I have been working at Amazon full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great career opportunities, however you have to look for them and be avid for growth. You can grow a lot with the company if you're in the right setting

    Cons

Can be difficult to survive if you don't have the right management. Compensation is not on par with other big tech companies in some of the roles. Work-life balance depends on you and the management you have.

I have been working at Amazon full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Amazon Web Services is as all Amazon Subsidiaries a truly customer obsessed company that builds business relationships to last for decades. Never before I was with an employer that puts the customer in the middle of everything they do in such a consequent and sustained way. AWS hires the best and smartes people so they can give their employees power to run business and think on their own.

    Cons

The speed in Amazon/AWS is sometimes a challange. Releasing more than 4 new services and features a day on avarge is quite demanding. Although being fair, the sales targes are tough and reflect the fast business growth.

    Advice to Management

Be cautious in hiring too many managers from the old IT as their speed and agility is slow and causes sales managers to push to hard on growing business wich scares away customers and enhances customer churn. Do not get too pushy and do not cut too much of the freedom you give your employees as this will lead to losing the smartest and best.

    Pros

Good Environment Good colleagues Great opportunities to travel and join different teams

    Cons

Growth depends on manager They don't care about your opinion if somebody in a higher level says any different They sometimes limit your work even you want to achieve more Job role is easy to understand but gets annoying. Apply security policies that impact Data Techs without caring about our opinion and/or if it affects the way your wok.

I have been working at Amazon full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Work in one of the biggest budget companies in the world. - Endless opportunities to promote, change your role within the company or even be moved. - Great relocation allowances. - Stocks.

    Cons

    - Boring job. - The most annoying security procedures making your go in go out from the Data Halls a slow pain in the #@s. - Procedures in general. Too many. Makes your work ineficient and very time consuming when working on simple things. - After some point you realize that the job is not challenging anymore and you get frustrated by boredom. - The requirements and specifications of the work look high but the tasks...

    Advice to Management

Hire people either level 3 or 4 but don't mix your hires because what you get is frustrated employees. Coach your employees and show them how to promote and where to get useful and straight information within the company so they can plan their careers for the future.

I have been working at Amazon full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Very nice place and international people to work with. I traveled and meet with nice colleagues in different clusters. they are providing fruits and an all-hands party every quarter.

    Cons

The working area is so bad they try to improve it but still, it's always dirty. when we have a visit from USA they try to make everything look perfect and they buy everything missing in the kitchen. Always providing to managers iPhones, Mac notebooks, Electric desks and for regular people the cheapest thing in the market. there is a huge gap between the managers and their teams.

    Advice to Management

I am sad to see these bad managers in this nice place. very bad managers, Most of them are not qualified for being manager by either skills or experience. They don't know how to lead and interact effectively with people. they don't accept feedback and suggestions for improvement, Lacks integrity, breaks promises, and is dishonest. Most of the good people quit from my cluster because of the poor management in Frankfurt....
