I have been working at Amazon full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Safety and Work/Home balance is a priority. Benefits are generous even for PT employees from day one which together with starting pay kept me there until I reached FT promotion. Getting time off for family reasons and medical is generally easy to get approved. As long as you demand the best from yourself you are treated great and rewarded for such. Generally, advancements are hired from within so iif you are driven,...

    Cons

You don't need to have lazy days. They are not tolerated so stay home if you can't perform to excellent par which is not so difficult if you have a strong personal work ethic. Generally you have to learn specifics of how to be successful from other experienced employees as there is a very short learning curve and management themselves don't generally take the time to provide the personal individual training you need...

    Advice to Management

Find a way to have time for more personal training at the very start.

    Pros

    Scheduling - can pick shifts

    Cons

NEVER getting a shift - seriously? Why did I bother? NO SHIFTS available. Fix scheduling.

    Advice to Management

Make the shifts fair. One week after being cleared to work, and NOTHING. No offers on the app.

I have been working at Amazon full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Work from home. Lots of voluntary time off, usually, depending on what department you're in.

    Cons

Won't follow its own written policies in terms of what you can be disciplined for. Droning work that goes on and on. Sometimes there is nothing you can do for your customer and they still make you send them a post-call survey.

    Advice to Management

When there is a written policy in your own employee handbook that supports associates' position, and is in direct conflict with your decision to discipline multiple associates, you should either reverse this decision, or at least remove that written policy from your handbook. But no one at Amazon cares if you get thrown under the bus, because a combination of them never having to meet face-to-face with you and them having...

I worked at Amazon full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Money and stock if you can last long enough. The associates and PA team work very hard but have no say in management decisions.

    Cons

Turnover in leadership. New AMs and OMs just change things to get credit for doing something and everything has a metric to score you on. Even if it doesn't make sense.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your team.

I have been working at Amazon full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great place to work if you have the right boss and things align well for you. There is no shortage of opportunity to get involved in pretty cool projects and if you like a high pace of change this is a great place to dive in and make a difference.

    Cons

If you're in operations understand that the operation runs 24/7. Holidays are just like any retail position, i.e. your working. Generally speaking to move up, the company will ask you to relocate, and if you have a family, that may be something to consider.

    Advice to Management

    People, not metrics, drive success.

I have been working at Amazon full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Ability to be relocated to many places, Monthly bonus, high sign on bonuses, fast paced environment which builds on leadership.

    Cons

Small base raise for annual reviews, compensation structure & raises built around inital reserved stock offering, long hours, no holidays off except Christmas and New Years day.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on your staff as they are the customers as well. Strong leadership and less politics would make it a lot better place for everyone.

I have been working at Amazon full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Money is the only thing and there are similar paying jobs. The sign on bonus is why people stay for a bit

    Cons

Operations Environment has high turnover Overworked High Stress Due to the clickish nature of upper managers, you may or may not be liked. And, you may or may not hear about it, but it is likely they told someone who told someone.

    Advice to Management

Learn an effective way to teach your managers to lead, learn the business, and protect your lower level managers from being treated horribly until the quit. You (not we as I no longer like working for this company) are losing talent for no solid good reasons.
