I worked at Amazon as a contractor

    Pros

Great pay, better suck out every last penny you can get outta them as a contractor. Great resume entry too.

    Cons

There's a reason why full time Amazon employees are called "Amazonians" because the workplace feels like a jungle and everyone acts like animals. You have virtually zero chances to covert unless you somehow became friends with the management when you were working with them in the past. They exercise none of the companies "leadership principles" but then expect you to adhere every aspect of your life to them. Every move you make feels watched, knowing that you're disposable means that they can shaft you at any moment for any unspecified reason.

    Advice to Management

Just stop hiring people, no one wants to work in a vicious place full of animals and rancid politics, even if it has good pay. The problems this organization is too rooted into the system to be repaired. All it takes is a critical bus function to go down and you'll see everyone's true colors.

I worked at Amazon full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great place to get professional experience. Lots of paid training.

    Cons

Make no mistake; you will be working for Amazon. They are notorious for chewing people up and spitting them out. Expect to be bullied and humiliated on a regular basis from management. There are a lot of ex-military in management who run the pace like a boot camp. The Amazon Leadership Principles are completely absent.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the current management structure; from the top on down to the bottom. Hire leaders with emotional intelligence who truly want to see their teams succeed. Stop pushing people to the breaking point; it's a bad way to run a business, and you will see your top talent walk away.

I have been working at Amazon (Less than a year)

    Pros

Awesome hours and had to cover multiple locations. Nice perks, but could always be better.

    Cons

Perks could have been better for a largely based sales company.

    Advice to Management

All management since then have left within a year of me starting t he position. That must mean something.
