I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Amazon has provided me with a wonderful opportunity to grow and develop. I have never been apart of a team that truly promoted each others growth as much as I have here. Ideas are taken seriously, ambitions are heard, and goals are in reach.

    Cons

Self reflection is important in development, and this is not an environment that will reward you for meeting expectations. If you can rise to the occasion to exceed expectations you will be successful, but you must be a driven personality type.

    Advice to Management

I am lucky to have a SOLID management team as far up as I can see, but I have witnessed other teams that are not as lucky. Managers, truly believe your team, and seek to understand their challenges so you can speak to them rather than make excuses for them.

I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

its a steady check - good health insurance, stock options, just about any schedule you could desire to work.

    Cons

Every day is day one! From the first day you walk in you become a pawn. If you like being in one place long this not the job for you. They treat you like a number and define you as a YOYO. Flexibility is must. The word favor is used like I love you and has a double meaning its all one sided. Weak minds and strong backs are all they want.

    Advice to Management

For them to remember we are human too and not just a number to generate other numbers. We have bad days too.

I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

the benefits are good, their schooling payment program covers 95 percent and easy to navigate, all the work is straight forward and easy to understand and do.

    Cons

long hours, huge company and it's easy to be just another number in the sea of employees, rate driven and little forgiveness if you can not keep up

    Advice to Management

just a bit of recognition and general respect to an individual goes a long way. fallowing through with request and giving everyone the oppertunity to learn new positions goes a long way to keeping people.

I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

insurance, free legal advice, other benefits, time off, stock,

    Cons

    constant scheduling, policy,and management changes

    Advice to Management

Try to keep the schedule the same; constant changes cause sleep disorders and mental health issues. The changes also affect your life in general. My department has the worst schedule and has been changes three times in a year. We will go in when it's light and come home when it's light now that spring is here. We work from 8 pm- 6:30 am. No one else in the building has a schedule like ours! It is not a workable schedule....it is also Monday- Thursday so you have no time to do anything during the week. You pretty much sleep away your week. So when you're told you have a three-day weekend, think about how much of each day one actually has when you make these ridiculous hours. Also, you don't just change our hours, you also have changed the days we work!
