I worked at Amazon for more than a year

    Pros

    Cutting edge technology, high salaries

    Cons

Burn out, no appreciation, does not care about employees

    Advice to Management

If you do not have time for the future engineers and interns, do not hire them to let them down.

I worked at Amazon for more than a year

    Pros

The stack at Amazon is nice, and it gives a great salary

    Cons

Management was pretty bad, very often giving contradictory advice on leadership qualities, mentorship was awful. My mentor sat next to me while I coded for a week because he had "nothing to do" and only at the end of the internship did he give me a giant code review full of things I did wrong or could improve.

I worked at Amazon for more than a year

    Pros

World-class company. Plenty of smart people. Salary is great. Really follow their principles through and through.

    Cons

Not paying for checked luggage seemed a little silly. People tend to work hard and long hours (very team dependent though).

I have been working at Amazon for more than a year

    Pros

    - Fast paced stimulating projects with BIG impact (My project was being used routinely as soon as I built v1.0, which also shows you how fast things move) - Knowledgeable managers and engineers who trust me and push me to my limits - Extremely competitive pay (Bay Area intern pay is higher than Seattle) - Great intern (luxury) housing option or housing stipend ($12k before tax/$7k after tax)

    Cons

    - Teams can vary - some teams move pretty slowly with internal bureaucracy while others (like mine) move super fast and ship products routinely - For fast teams like mine, it's not for everyone. Be very prepared to learn quickly and sometimes put in longer hours as a result - if you're here to learn and grow fast you'll love it, if you're here just for the paycheck you'll hate it - Teams vary on sociability, but my...

    Advice to Management

-Allow interns to speak to potential managers and projects before assigning them to a team. It provides more variety and tailors closer to each intern's interests. - Hold some intern events, albeit frugality will probably prevent it.

I have been working at Amazon for more than a year

    Pros

    1. Work on latest technologies (sometimes ones which were released only a month ago) 2. Liberty to think out of the box with a possibility of actually implementing it. 3. Amazing infrastructure and support from other teams. 4. Small-sized teams makes you feel you are in a start-up

    Cons

    1. Do not expect free stuff. ( You get paid enough to get it yourself) 2. Seattle weather can be bad if you like being in places which are sunny.

    Advice to Management

Keep going and hire the best
