I worked at Amazon full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

    - Huge company with a ton of different opportunities across the world, in any position you are interested in. - Process Assistant role in particular is an excellent opportunity for building leadership and management experience. - Very open-ended roles with lots of individual flexibility in driving your own success. Large departments have a variety of processes, goals, and the people to achieve them. As a PA, it's largely...

    Cons

    - Easy to move up from Tier 1 to Tier III for anyone with professionalism and work ethic. Far more challenging to move from Tier III to Tier IV, requiring years of experience and a proven track record of being above and beyond as a tier III. - Use of broad "tiers" for a number of different jobs considered on the same level reduces wages and opportunities to move up past tier III. - Heavily chaotic, not particularly...

    Advice to Management

Prioritize the processes needed to achieve clear organization and communication with the team. This is a small investment in time for large rewards in reduced labor and materials costs.

    Pros

Reasonable pay and benefits Emphasis on safety

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Improve break rooms. Review "rates" to balance quality vs quantity.

Former Employee - Customer Service Representative in Winchester, KY

I worked at Amazon for more than 4 years

    Pros

Earned time off, also you get a weeks paid vacation starting. And once you earn time off, you can roll it together. If the phones are slow, you have the option to take the day off-unpaid.

    Cons

It does get hectic, especially around the holidays. If you are one who doesn't like criticism, then this job isn't for you. You have metrics and they take them serious. Its not unheard of to have someone sit beside you and side jack into your calls.

  5. Not difficult work, but demanding.

I worked at Amazon full-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

Easy to get on. Easy work to do. Set schedule.

      Cons

Not beneficial to do more work than what’s required.

      Advice to Management

Understand that sometimes a route given by the scanner is what causes slow pick rate, not the worker.

I have been working at Amazon full-time for more than 6 years

      Pros

The pay is pretty decent and I love the insurance. They will pay for school, they offer vocational classes in CDL. They pay for a lot of different schooling, and vocational classes. They give the employee's a lot of time off. HR is extremely helpful in almost every aspect. I definitely believe Jeff Bezos is a very smart business man. If you show up for work on scheduled time, make expected rate and not have a lot of...

      Cons

The managers change quite often. Everyone is looking for the best idea to get the best outcome and it's encouraged to be the one with the next greatest idea in management. There is a lot of change in the air all the time, so if you're not flexible, you might not happy there.

      Advice to Management

When an employee is struggling in one area, get in there and get involved. Find out the obstacles for their employee, not just look at numbers, give warning and right ups. That stuff is very important of course, but interaction will go a long way.
