I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits; lots of opportunity for career advancement; above average pay; generally positive work environment.

    Cons

Work schedules are not for everybody; required productivity standards can be tough to meet/exceed; as management moves up the ladder, they can become detached from the day to day operation and the ground level associates.

    Advice to Management

It is imperative to establish a relationship based on trust and respect with associates working under you. Obtaining/having knowledge of processes goes a long way.

I have been working at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are too many good things about Amazon. Management is attentive and will address any issues an employee may have. Benefits are decent.

    Cons

Because the facility is new, some of the managers are just beginning. But in the section I regularly work in, even though I have witnessed mild power struggles, it all works out.

    Advice to Management

We Are The Champions of the World!

I worked at Amazon part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent Pay and short hours. Atmosphere is pretty cool for the most part I guess. It’s not for everybody that’s for sure.

    Cons

One word! FAVORITISM. You can really only progress in this place if the sort slide “boss” likes you. Some people get assigned whatever job they ask for and if they don’t get it they just go do it anyway with no threats of being written up,while others are yelled at and threatened with a write up for “self assigning “. I’ve seen people moved from doing an excellent job to another because someone that management really likes wants to do that particular job for the day even though they suck at that particular job. 12 minute breaks.

    Advice to Management

Give everybody a shot to do everything in that building!!!

Work shifts are first come first serve (Prime Now).

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing a great job!

I have been working at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Make rate and they let you cross-train in areas. I have been in the Las Vegas location since August and have been cross trained in for other areas. So I am not just stuck at processing all week.

    Cons

If you process all week it can get pretty boring. Time goes by slow processing 40 units an hour for 10 hour.

    Advice to Management

Make things fun. Encourage races between lanes. Not just individual power hours. If your in the back you have no chance.

I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Vacation time in conjunction with 4 day work week is great. I work 4 day 10 hour shift schedule which allows me to take 4 vacation days and get 10 days off.

    Cons

Stress at work can be overwhelming.

    Advice to Management

Increase pay to entry level associates.

Stocks, VCP, Great benefits, Same schedule- it doesn’t change every week. Night shift differential. Good exercise. 3 days off on most schedules.

    Cons

Lack of leadership, Favoritism, Not consistent. Short Breaks. Underpaid, no real competitive pay. Redundant issues in the processing of items. Standing for long hours.

    Advice to Management

Be a leader, not a manager.
