I worked at Amazon part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Flexible Schedule

Can easily transfer to other locations

    Cons

Limited Number of Employees Allowed to Work: While you do get to pick your own schedule, the managers limit the amount of employees allowed to work per shift. So if they decide only three people can work a morning shift, and you want that shift, prepare to compete with everyone else that wants that shift. Also, they drop shifts randomly. So you'll have to keep your phone nearby in case managers decide to release the shift you want. And don't forget that you're required to work a certain amount of hours every month to even keep your job there. Utterly stupid.

Incompetent Management: Besides the scheduling snafu, some of the managers are frankly not qualified for their post. They will often make mistakes you wouldn't expect from someone of management level.

No Promotion Opportunities: They will sweet talk you during your initial job fair, but don't be fooled. People rarely rise above the ranks of associate at that place. And the managers won't inform you of any opportunities because they want those for themselves. There are opportunities to switch locations and maybe get a different job, but you will rarely rise above the level you enter into the company at.

    Advice to Management

I have no advice. Not like you'd listen anyways.

I worked at Amazon part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, easy work, same daily routine

    Cons

No consistency with standard work processes, poor communication, lazy employees, most of the workforce can’t read and have a sense of entitlement, job is too easy and there is no excuse for all of the work errors

    Advice to Management

The true power is not with the on-site management team. Lazy managers who don’t care about the work or employees shouldn’t be allowed to keep their jobs.

I have been working at Amazon part-time

    Pros

very flexible working environment, no micro managing

    Cons

VERY physical work, lots of management issues, very unorganized and mass confusion/chaos every day, employees who don't care and don't do their jobs

    Advice to Management

Maybe need more training for employees, but management seriously needs to get their act together!

I have been working at Amazon as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Good pay if the work is available

    Cons

Management doesn't listen to the drivers nor warehouse management. I've been a driver for almost 2 years in the Atlanta/Lawrenceville Area and it's a mess now.

    1. They have merged the Lawrenceville and Atlanta so all the drivers can see all of the blocks. Lawrenceville is not seeing any for Lawrenceville but all for Atlanta and vice versa. The warehouses are min apart without traffic.

    2. Central is throwing 1.5 hour blocks when we have to go from the warehouse to sprout then only left with an hour to make 6 stops.

    3. Central assigns blocks then reassign them, now 2 drivers have the same route.

    4. Support is no help and emailing support is no help.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the drivers, each state is different.
