    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

great place if you're self motivated and flexible. You can experience all the different departments and gain valuable experience. If you're young and can move around the country, even better. That alone will give you much more opportunity to climb the ladder

    Cons

rate is king. people love to talk standards, but the only real standard is to make your numbers. the other things that are supposed to be important can and will take a backseat to numbers at times

    Advice to Management

learn your departments. Lots of people get brought in from outside or moved around and they expect things that don't jive with how a department runs or take into account challenges the people face.

    Pros

This job works well for me as a part-time warehouse associate. I have a set schedule with part-time flexible hours. It's ALWAYS busy and your learning, moving at a very fast pace which in turn makes the work hours fly b quickly.

    Cons

I have found out by working at Amazon, this job requires constant fast paced movement, which can come with walking 8-10 miles in a given 5 hr shift, constant bending, can be very loud at
times when the belts are up and running. In my opinion you need to be in above average GOOD health, mainly because the job is NOT for "WEAK OR OLDER PEOPLE or OUT OF SHAPE PEOPLE". Job requires VERY FAST PACED MOVEMENTS" approximately 90% of work time. Also management requires certain "SCANNING RATES" which are monitored and viewed by management as a judgement of how productive you are for the company. For myself I have very high energy level and I view the constant walking and exercise that's done on a daily basis as a benefit to staying healtthy. Though this job is NOT FOR EVERYBODY.

    Advice to Management

Better communication between employees & management on HOW TO become more productive would definitely help. Open lines (I feel) enable EMPLOYEES & MANAGEMENT to understand better what exactly is required from the employees and enable UNDERSTANDING on both sides.
