I have been working at Amazon full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I work with great people, am trusted, and treated like a person. I came to Amazon from the military and am so happy I was offered the opportunity to become an Amazonian. Amazon offers so much for their employees and truly cares.

    Cons

My only con is my commute, I have to travel 2 hours here and 2 hours home because I live across the water. Financially it is a better decision because I own a house and land, but convenience wise it is really difficult. Living in the city just isn't for all of us, but if you do you will have everything within walking distance, including your office.

I have been working at Amazon full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Amazon is full of opportunity. It can be an exciting, dynamic place to work where you learn a lot every day. Many teams at Amazon are flexible and provide supportive work environments with ample opportunities for career development and growth.

    Cons

Your experience at Amazon depends entirely on your team. My team has an intense culture with an expectation of long working hours done at your desk, after-hours social event attendance, and low opportunity for career development. Ask a lot of questions in your interview about team hours, team culture, work from home policy within the team, and opportunities for growth. Also, hourly employees at corporate headquarters...

    Advice to Management

More training and support for managers. More sick time so people don't come to work sick and share germs. Better vacation time, especially for hourly employees.

I have been working at Amazon full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Competitive Salary, decent health benefits

    Cons

inconsistencies throughout various policies, poor communication, unreliable leadership, and ego

    Advice to Management

You've mastered customer obsession but lost the importance of treating your employees with respect. take ownership of this mistake and develop new methods to have decent retention within the company instead of a revolving door of new hires. I have been consistently disappointed with the lack of respect shown throughout the company. Leadership is unreliable and selfish. The ability to grow within the company is completely...

I have been working at Amazon full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I was pleasently surprised how engaging and strength-focused my team has been. Since day one, I've been included in conversations that I feel like I have little reason being in beyond simply building and developing my own strengths and understanding of the overall business. Amazon is very much focused on the leadership principles and propelling new hires into their desired careers. Once you are in the door, you are 'one...

    Cons

The business has been growing so rapidly that few processes are relevant for more than a few years. Amazon needs to find ways to ensure that process improvements are being carried out constantly and recorded! Quality of life for employees at all levels can be improved by an investment of this kind.
