I have been working at Amazon full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Amazing opportunities on job growth. The unique ways of how Amazon operates is enough to enjoy working for the company. A cool down to earth company.

    Cons

Have not really found many Con as of yet if ever but something they could possibly improve on is providing an allowance for personal growth on certifications.

    Advice to Management

Make sure to ask employees how they're feeling about the job and if they're happy.

I worked at Amazon full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

The benefits are amazing and the pay was decent. The overnight 10 hour shifts are tough to get use to but it's not that bad after awhile.

    Cons

No room for advancement without a bachelor degree.

    Advice to Management

    Nothing I can think of.

    Cons

Sometimes you fall behind on your work and will have to play catch up or come in on your day off.

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Amazon full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Great sense of team. Relaxed atmosphere. A real sense of accomplishment as docks clear at end of dispatch.

    Cons

Changes happen fast and communication doesn't always keep up. Also you have to switch between multiple tasks on a timetable outside your control.

    Advice to Management

Have more of a dialogue regarding changes, seek to include people at the ground level in discussions regarding work processes.

I have been working at Amazon full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Casual culture Lots of opportunities Fun, fast-paced atmosphere

    Cons

Emphasis on hiring in talent externally

    Advice to Management

Limited guidance on career development is a problem (turnover means managers tend to cling to good workers rather than help develop them)

I have been working at Amazon full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

They are "innovative". I'll give Amazon delivery that much.

    Cons

The job description is only 1/50th of what you will need to do on a daily basis. Be prepared to be required to go above and beyond for each and every little initiative they push toward the sortation network as they will be constantly creating new programs and tools with little to no testing done prior for immediate mandatory. This would not be a bad thing, if these programs went through some sort of internal QA but they...

    Advice to Management

If you really wanted to save money and guarantee customer experience, you would do the following. One, get rid of at least 60% of the antagonistic natures between the various divisions. It does not help as much as you may think it does and has actively delayed packages from getting out on time. Two, stop wasting time with new programs literally every month. All these new tools that are being developed are not saving money....

I worked at Amazon full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Endless opportunities in all sorts of fields. Rapidly growing company with no signs of slowing down. Taking over the world.

    Cons

Depending on what site you work at, management can be fickle. Certain sites, managers really care about your growth, other sites will leave you in the dust the moment they can. Unfortunately, I was at the latter.

    Advice to Management

Don't tell people they have all the potential in the world and not develop them into that potential.

I have been working at Amazon full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good hiring. Good filtering. Excellent rounds to test one's ability.

    Cons

Recruitment team should respond to the employees and the candidates. Recruitment should help us to know current openings in amazon as this helps us to refer our friends.

    Advice to Management

Hiring team should maintain the relation between the employees and also assist them accordingly.

I have been working at Amazon full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Good money, available overtime hours especially during peak season. Part-time associates who always work hard and it’s a pleasure to work with them.

    Cons

Mandatory overtime during peak, frequent drastic changes in standard of work and scheduling, very few of those in management speak or act respectfully toward lower level employees, there’s NO COMMUNICATION, rules are consistently broken with no consequences while others are harshly punished or fired for their transgressions, the floor plan is disorganized and makes no sense, I see new faces everyday, it’s a stressful...

    Advice to Management

Worry less about getting the best numbers at all costs and pay more attention to your employees happiness. Specific tasks should apply to specific job titles. There’s no excuse for not staffing part-time associates because full-time employees from a different department can do the job for free since they have to be there anyway. Also breaks are mandatory, the rushed method of 15 minutes for seasonal and part time associates...
