I worked at Amazon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Get to meet some really cool people, if you like to stand nonstop then this is the place for you

    Cons

Limited to moving up. Sometimes hours flex down because not enough work/volume

    Advice to Management

More work hours, better managers/shift leads running the place. Give everybody an opportunity to learn and move up.

I worked at Amazon part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Busy work pace, efficient, and coworkers all had positive mental attitude.

    Cons

Sometimes I'd get massive amounts of work done quickly and be left with nothing to do towards end of shift.

    Advice to Management

Try to plan shifts and how many of staff members are onsite slightly better and adaptive to the situation.

I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great work/life balance. I recently had a baby, & my Manager & Director regularly stop by to tell me to take off any time I need for bonding, doctor's appointments, or just to help out at home.

Great compensation & benefits. I can't speak for every person in every role, but I'd be hard-pressed to find another employer with better compensation & benefits in Orange County.

Interesting projects. I truly enjoy & believe in the products I work on. I'm afforded opportunities to mold & change them in positive ways. And I can tell that my teammates feel the same way.

    Cons

Career progression. It's on you, as an employee, to progress your own career here. While I see pros & cons to this, I wasn't wholly impressed with my own process of working toward a promotion. However, I have seen positive changes made since then.

I worked at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Inspiring to be part of such an innovated company
    - Exponential potential for AMG to provide the market with an undeniable solution

    Cons

    - AMG has no tech.
    - They hire "18 months a head of a role", meaning they hire candidates for what they hope the role will evolve into. This does the hire a disservice because they are often vastly overqualified almost ensuring that they are not challenged or happy in the role. This does AMG a huge disservice as well because it creates a much hire rate of attrition.
    - Minimal exposure to thought leaders or senior executives.
    - Majority of management does not have experience in advertising, so there is a disconnect between what the market needs and what we are providing.
    - CST managers do not have people management experience.

    Advice to Management

    - Hire more junior level AMs/CMs and inspire them to grow with the role. This will mitigate high rates of attrition, creating more stability in roles.
    - Stop putting people with no people management experience in management roles without ensuring they have the resource to develop those skills.
    - Hire people with ad tech or digital ad experience instead of promoting people that fit the Amazon model, but cannot navigate the industry.

    Pros

Pretty relaxing environment. It's still solid hard work, though. They offer cool perks here and there, especially during the holiday season. Seems like there are potential opportunities for growth also.

    Cons

With so many employees, often times can feel like just a number. Also, there aren't too many opportunities to connect with other associates.
