I have been working at Amazon (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Very talented team
    - Freedom to have ownership and develop your ideas
    - Dynamic and changing environment

    Cons

    - Most roles are objective driven and this can be stressful
    - Some managers tend to over-focus on micromanagement and not on team development
    - The intensity of the environment is not something fit for all profiles

    Advice to Management

Understand your team and develop them in their skill sets in a friendly way and not on a pressure driven manner

I worked at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very smart people, very interesting line of business and great colleagues. I came from a lot of multinationals and the company ranked high in team spirit. Salary is high for comparible positions in other companies.

    Cons

Do not realise why, but it feels like a billion dollar startup for the worse: really high turnover, no organization, no time to learn, my senior team members left after I was 3 months on the job and nobody had time and knowledge to teach me. After all your experience in the company will depend on the circumstances, I was on the least appealing job in the least appealing category... add to it at least 9-10h of work daily. It felt in the end like a call center.

    Advice to Management

Mr Bezos: stop being cheap and greedy and improve the stability and work quality of the employers. Having a medium turnover of 1-2 years in marketplace is mostly because of this. Amazon principles just sound like cheap excuses for you to have cheap and submissive qualified labour.
