I have been working at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Really genuinely invested in their employees. Everyone is really smart, I often feel a bit like an impostor :)
The teams are really welcoming and supportive.

The interview was one of the most amazing experiences professionally. It took lots of preparation but all of it was worth it.

    Cons

It's all self-service here. You have to be a natural self-starter. It can be really easy to get sidetracked not doing your job.

In the interview, you can feel like you are in no-mans land, it's just the internal process they go through.

    Advice to Management

None so far. All open and welcoming!

I worked at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some of the best, smartest and humble minds at work, with reasonably good salary. If you get a good manager, who can help you in your ambition, your career is set!

    Cons

The Super power given to your supervisor/manager - the person can make or break your career. There is no one, I repeat, absolutely no one, will be able to help you once you get an incompetent manager - Get this: *Not even HR* will be able to help the employee.

    Advice to Management

Please make sure you enforce the leadership principles on people's managers: ESP: Hire and Develop the best! If your managers can't look after the people who report to him/her then your customers will suffer in a long run - it is as simple as that! Empower your HR to investigate the matter raised by an employee (About his/her manager) with *multiple* inputs (Such as inputs from account teams, inputs from customers, and all the other people he /she worked with) and not only "check" with the employee's manager.

    Pros

    Lots of opportunity
    Growing business
    Great team of people
    Good management
    You own your own business
The business trusts its employees to make the right decisions

    Cons

You have to enforce your own work life balance boundaries
It’s very fast paced which can become overwhelming

    Advice to Management

As growth continues Focus on employee development and keeping the culture

    Pros

Culture is key, and as an employee I feel valued by my company and management. People are very helpful. Just, a great place to work!!

    Cons

Honestly, nothing comes to mind at the moment. I have been here for 12 months now.

    Advice to Management

    Keep the culture great!

I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Love the culture. I have only met about 1-2% idiots so far - which is extremely low for an enterprise like this. Be your own boss, do what you love, opportunities everywhere.

    Cons

internal systems are crap and you don't get a lot of management face time, so if you need handholding this is not the place for you. There is lots of travel which some people love, others hate especially those with families.

    Advice to Management

improve internal systems (like HR and payments), but whatever you do, keep the culture #1.

Amazon is a good company to work.

    Cons

Long hours and less time at home.

    Advice to Management

Interview process should be less extrenous
