    They are "innovative". I'll give Amazon delivery that much.

    Cons

    The job description is only 1/50th of what you will need to do on a daily basis. Be prepared to be required to go above and beyond for each and every little initiative they push toward the sortation network as they will be constantly creating new programs and tools with little to no testing done prior for immediate mandatory. This would not be a bad thing, if these programs went through some sort of internal QA but they rarely do, resulting in late dispatches for months until things are repaired. Add to that the repetitive reports due, in some cases, multiple times per day, the new restrictions on what can/can not be used and utilized within the facility, the upper-upper management making decisions in the worst interests of those below, and every internal system being set up against each other and it's a wonder a package gets delivered at all some days.

    Advice to Management

    If you really wanted to save money and guarantee customer experience, you would do the following. One, get rid of at least 60% of the antagonistic natures between the various divisions. It does not help as much as you may think it does and has actively delayed packages from getting out on time. Two, stop wasting time with new programs literally every month. All these new tools that are being developed are not saving money. Perhaps, instead, have these people fix the long standing issues that have been noted in the system for 2+ years first before deciding to push out another broken tool. Finally, three, trust the eyes on the ground before going by the numbers on the monitor. I understand that in a perfect world, the planned perfect cubic volume of each incoming and outgoing package could be properly planned in advance, but we are not in a perfect world. If we see that we have over 8000 pieces of volume over the normally loaded volume of the scheduled loads, and most of that volume is large and oversized boxes, a request for 3 to 4 extra loads to cover that volume should not require a multi hour discussion around how there are already enough planned loads for the projected outbound volume.
