I have been working at Amazon as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

You will have a lot of work, if you are workaholic, then this job is for you.

Mostly you will have to work on hardware using Linux.

You will learn lot about upcoming techs.

    Best compensation in the industry.

Company works on Leadership principles, and has great culture, values and ethics.

Company is ready to take calculated risk.

    Internal transfers is allowed.

    Cons

Rotational shift (if someone considers it so)

Future! (if you don't perform you will face concequence)

Level Movement and promotion (most of time you will be working on same level, or max can get 1 promotion. i.e. its static)

No professional training or certification (you will get job training for sure, but no other profssional certfication like RHCE/CCNA/CCNP/A+ )

May be you need to travel.

    Advice to Management

There should be some, level movement or promotion.

    Create more positions.

    Hire more candidates.

Provide professional training and give assistance for certification.

I have been working at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great learning experience. You cannot get away with mediocrity which in turn it helps you grow. There are enough enablers in the organization - your manager, peers - to help you learn and grow with the organization.

    Cons

Difficult to find a con at this stage. I would say data availability internally becomes tedious - not impossible.

    Advice to Management

    Keep raising the bar

    Pros

Colleagues, salary, your boss(most of the bosses are good). Your boss understands your problems and if failed in something, they will support you. Not like the other companies where they screw u up for small things.

    Cons

Long working hours. Lot of work. No work life balance

    Advice to Management

    Nope

I have been working at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Big Organisation, A lot of things can be learned if middle management has a vision and the patience to hear others saying.

Else, don't bother and play with your career to be in Amazon, trust me in a months time you will have the urge to leave.

    Cons

No Culture, Leadership lacks vision (middle Management), No Long-term vision, Zero Learnings.

In short, if you want to dump your career down a gutter, Join Amazon.

Personally, I am leaving amazon in 2 months

    Advice to Management

Kindly educate your middle management in how to be great leaders and not a mediator. Also, add vision to their curriculum, they certainly lack it. They have made a mockery out of the company principles.
