I have been working at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent starting salary, structured environment, great job for the right person.

    Cons

Warehouse gets hot and the water coolers not close enough to all stations; you'll need to stay hydrated, but time away from your station to get more water or use the restroom chips away at your production time. I hope you don't have a shy bladder.
Your time on the clock is completely micromanaged to the nanosecond; you'll not only be on your feet for ten hours a day, but when you get one of your two 15-minute breaks, you have to walk as fast as you know how to walk to get where you have to go; there's a three minute walk to break room, then you have to time the coffee machine to brew your cup while you run and get another cup full of ice so you can cool your coffee off enough to drink it since you can't bring it on the floor. You might shove a granola bar down your throat with the coffee, run to the restroom, and then back to your station so you can start picking again at exactly 15 minutes after your break began.

Going to lunch involves waiting until exactly 12 to sign out of station, then walk three minutes to swipe out for lunch at 12:03. Upon return from lunch you'll need to attend the daily afternoon Stand-Up (required meeting) at 12:35, and since you can't sign in before you've been on lunch for 30 minutes, you'll have to wait until 12:33 to swipe back in and then run up the stairs to the third floor for the Stand-Up.

RE the physicality of the job: Picking - which is what I was arbitrarily assigned despite all kinds of questions about my work habits asked of me in the online application process - is extremely physical work that is expected to take place at seemingly unrealistic speeds, so be prepared to hurt. If you're over 50, be prepared to hurt even more because you can't apply for another position for six months.

Advice? They don't want my advice. They don't want yours, either.

    Pros

An sense of belonging that I have not experienced anywhere else.
At Amazon, you are equipped with knowledge and tools to be successful in your role. I've been not too long and have already attended training opportunities at my work site and in other sites as well. The interview was excellent at really getting to know me.

There is huge amount of information to digest and this can be overwhelming.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work and continue to raise the bar.

I worked at Amazon part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If the day was slow, they would offer VTO (voluntary time off) frequently, so if you needed a day off for whatever reason, it makes it much earlier.

    Cons

The staff wasn't helpful or welcoming and it was disorganized.

    Advice to Management

Be more welcoming, helpful, and willing to listen to your employees.
