I worked at Amazon part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits, flexible hours, holiday pay.

    Cons

Routine work. Amazon Fresh department was not the best when employees had to go from room temperature environments to sub zero temperatures (winter gear was provided but it was still cold)

    Advice to Management

    More creativity in the workplace.

I have been working at Amazon full-time

    Pros

    Quality leaders!
Useful harmony in teams, even though there is pushing of each other to be their best and express their value-add in many ways, using their 'super-strengths'
Ability to maintain work-life balance, while doing really interesting, world-changing work
Can straddle multiple disciplines in technology, strategy, finance, and design within a single role.
Can get a good view of the organization from many angles

    Cons

Internal communications can be overwhelming (email fatigue)

    Advice to Management

Identify your top talent through 360 feedback, and then embolden and empower them.
Direct reporting chain is linear, which usually leads to a manager-specific experience of the company and work done, which can really suck the brains and talent out of a quality organization primed to grow

I worked at Amazon part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Pretty straightforward work
Can be easy and tough at the same time
Provides work equipment for free (gloves, vests, etc.)
    Dental and medical insurance

    Cons

No set work hours (You leave when you're finished, even if it's not your "scheduled" time yet)

Can feel like you're doing way more than you get paid to do.

It's a warehouse so work conditions aren't the best. (In the summer you will be dripping sweat, in the winter you will be freezing cold)

They'll either have too many employees, forcing you to leave early, or WAY too little, making you have 2-3x the regular amount of work.

No paid vacation for part-time employees. Ask about your benefits before you start.

No union, so you can be fired for a stupid reason, a manager will definitely keep their job over yours, even if they were wrong.

No direct way to actually get in contact with the warehouse/people you work with.

    Advice to Management

Have some way for employees to get in contact with warehouse supervisors or managers!!!

I worked at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Full Benefits, More than Minimum wage....Barely. Dress extreamly casual, no real need to for any education plus the ability to count to 100 and read at the 3rd grade level.

    Cons

The FC associate position is best for the young or physically fit. The only requirement to maintain or advance is the ability to move fast. If you are 40+ and not use to the demand of 10 hours+ on your feet moving fast think twice....then again. Much like field positions before 1865 the better you perform the more is expected.

    Advice to Management

None, AMZN is the behemouth that ate Retail America, who am I to advise the 100 billion Dollar Man

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pay is decent if you don’t have major responsibilities, but I believe it should be higher due to the 10 hour shifts. The people are friendly and if you like working on your own this is a great job for you.

    Cons

The QUOTA is constantly being raised which means that the majority of the 10 hours you’re working you will be moving fast. The managers also are constantly looking and reminding you of your rates which is stressful even if you’re above the quota. You are allowed to make few mistakes 1 per every thousand units you stow ( which I find ridiculous) I also take public transportation and at the moment I work from 6pm to 4:30am. There is no shuttle service although the 48 bus starts running at 5:30am but there are vans that come to the center and charge 5-7 dollars a ride. Amazon should provide a shuttle service because they make enough money and it would also be considerate.

    Advice to Management

Treat the employees better by lowering the quota and get a shuttle service that drops employees off to Newark since that’s where most of the people who take the bus go.
