I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You will learn a LOT! You will get an MBA in the Cloud technologies. You will work with great people who were selected on their merit and knowledge. There's always someone to learn from.

    Cons

After the first 2 to 3 years your salary takes a hit and you will start looking to move on to another company. Amazon, for some strange reason, doesn't seem to care much about retaining professionals after that time frame.

    Advice to Management

Make data-driven decisions (which most of you do).

I have been working at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It has been a great ride so far.

Amazon really cares about their customers. After being a customer for over 15 years and now sitting on the other side of the fence, everything makes sense. As long as a member of the AWS team, I continue to look for the best interest for our customers, I will continue to have a successful career here.

I enjoy the great working environment and it has been immensely gratifying assisting customers with their issues and their journey to the cloud.

This position is allowing me to dedicate time to better myself and learn more about cloud products. In a short period of time, it has allowed me to establish great relationships with some of the smartest people I have ever met.

    Cons

Currently, I have not experienced any cons. Too early to say.

    Advice to Management

The current formula seems to work very well. Keep up the good work and continue to provide direction and outlook so that the work force can continue to fine tune deliverables.

I have been working at Amazon part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Managers constantly walk floor to address issues or give compliments on work. You get discounts on various business sites from phones to computer to cruises

    Cons

They do not offer full time

    Advice to Management

Offer more than 6. - 4 hour shifts and more people would stay

I have been working at Amazon full-time

    Pros

    Quality leaders!
Useful harmony in teams, even though there is pushing of each other to be their best and express their value-add in many ways, using their 'super-strengths'
Ability to maintain work-life balance, while doing really interesting, world-changing work
Can straddle multiple disciplines in technology, strategy, finance, and design within a single role.
Can get a good view of the organization from many angles

    Cons

Internal communications can be overwhelming (email fatigue)

    Advice to Management

Identify your top talent through 360 feedback, and then embolden and empower them.
Direct reporting chain is linear, which usually leads to a manager-specific experience of the company and work done, which can really suck the brains and talent out of a quality organization primed to grow

I worked at Amazon part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Pretty straightforward work
Can be easy and tough at the same time
Provides work equipment for free (gloves, vests, etc.)
    Dental and medical insurance

    Cons

No set work hours (You leave when you're finished, even if it's not your "scheduled" time yet)

Can feel like you're doing way more than you get paid to do.

It's a warehouse so work conditions aren't the best. (In the summer you will be dripping sweat, in the winter you will be freezing cold)

They'll either have too many employees, forcing you to leave early, or WAY too little, making you have 2-3x the regular amount of work.

No paid vacation for part-time employees. Ask about your benefits before you start.

No union, so you can be fired for a stupid reason, a manager will definitely keep their job over yours, even if they were wrong.

No direct way to actually get in contact with the warehouse/people you work with.

    Advice to Management

Have some way for employees to get in contact with warehouse supervisors or managers!!!

    Stop pressuring devs
