    Pros

decent pay and bennys, job not too hard, climate controlled (to a point)

    Cons

boring, not much versatility or room for movement, no job rotation pattern, all daily job assignment are handed out willy nilly by one person, some unqualified mngrs, constant turnover of floor level mngrs, mngrs always complaing about same stuff everyday but never taking any action to correct it, mngrs expect tier 1 empluees to fix all the problems while mngrs stand there and look at a lap top all day and monitor the breakroom

    Advice to Management

Come up with a plan to address all the issues that don't affect you but affect all the tier 1 empolyees daily and then enforce the plan.ie: trash all over the OPs, safety harnesses thrown on the floor, scan guns and batteries not being returned to charging area, inbound PITs parked all over the pick racks in groups of 3-6 shooting the breeze for 5-15 minutes at a time while creating congestion and unsafe operating conditions for outbound OPs, inbound PIT strewing pieces of broken pallets all over the racks for outbound OPs to drive over, the list is pretty much endless. I know, you expect the OP operators to take care of all these problems and more while they are being monitored pretty much by the minute for productivity, quality, safety and time off task.

I worked at Amazon as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Opportunity to learn a lot; networking opportunities available; potential for high degree of ownership over experience; great people (Associates and Managers)

    Cons

Can be placed in any location and don't have control over shift; unstructured intern program can be frustrating at time; frequent management changes and moves

I have been working at Amazon full-time

    Pros

bonus and stock if you get them. lots of great employees

    Cons

No leadership, only managers. no promotion criteria, if you want to get promoted you have to work ungodly amounts of extra hours and suck up. they rate you for promotion, it has nothing to do with your abilities or work, but who they like the best. this is a direct result of them having no leaders/leadership. his is actually not a place for type A Type As want to be in charge and runs things correctly. Amazon is a place where even if your OPS, Senior OPS, GM is an idiot they still expect you to do what they say and then com up with a plan to clean up the mess/ fallout. they will always blame the managers at the bottom, the senior ops/GM never take any responsibility for bad decisions.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to avoid everything you think is associated with unions and actually start having concern for your people, hire more people to run all your crazy schedules and stick to what you tell people. if you say it is a 4 day 10 hour shifts then stop forcing them to do mandatory overtime. no company that seriously wants to be a people company would ever force mandatory overtime on workers, that is all about your money and business. Mr Bezos needs to get out and get in touch with his company, the FCs are horrible places to work

    Pros

Flexible schedules, fun work environment, frequent "parties" & "themed" days, artistic co-workers who are friendly and helpful.

Unclear chain of command, frequent confusion and infighting between departments

    Advice to Management

Hold everyone accountable regardless of the color of their badge.

I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Transfer opportunities all over the country and the world, medical, dental, vision and life insurance, 401k match.

    Cons

Competitive, stressful environment. If you are a pessimist, tend to distrust people, or don't really like looking at the big picture, you will have a rough time (and you will give others a rought time). Don't apply if you're not extremely resilient.

    Advice to Management

Find more ways to reward and engage loyal employees, and encourage their growth and promotion. Find better hiring algorithms that will weed out people who can't handle stress, read, follow rules, and keep a positive attitude.

I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

A good, solid company that will be around, everywhere, for a good long time. They aim to do well by their employees.

    Cons

Promotions can be an issue. They manage to exclude those they don't want to promote. Seems like person(s) picked already prior to the posting & promotion process.

    Advice to Management

Listen to what employees mention to you of other employees. If it's been mentioned, it's important!

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Growth opportunity available through relocating.

    Cons

Base rate of pay around %20 below national average for warehouse work. Amazon representatives justify this by stating the wage is %10 above national avg for retail work. This is a smokescreen as the work involved is warehouse work with no comparison to retail. Warehouses are almost unbearably hot during the summer and opportunities to cut corners are taken at every chance in the name of frugality at the expense of the employees.

    Advice to Management

You can maintain a customer focused/obsession business model and still provide employees the deserved compensation which would improve employee loyalty, positively effect turnover, and raise moral and boost production efficiency within the organization. Giving pride to those employed and raising mural with the feeling of being valued and not just a cog in the machine.
