I have been working at Amazon part-time

    Pros

Good workout, easy, benefits including health pay and dental. Plenty of UPT given and paid holidays plus if you work on a holiday you get holiday pay, and time and a half. Lot's of VET opportunities if you want to work more hours.

    Cons

It's a HOT warehouse, so be prepared to sweat.

I have been working at Amazon (Less than a year)

    Pros

Convient if you want to make extra money. $18/hr. Was good in the beginning when you could get shifts. But....

    Cons

Can't pich up shifts easy because people are hacking or botting them. Deliveries can put a lot of miles on your vehicle. Some deliveries are one way, leaving you to drive back hours unpaid. No human support, all automated. They hire way too many drivers making shifts impossible to get.

    Advice to Management

Stop the bots and hacks. Give out shifts evenly and then have a roulette system offer shifts up so everyone gets a chance to pick them up evenly. Spend better money on routing software, it is the worse I have ever seen. Have a phone number with a human for support.

I have been working at Amazon part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flex hours and always room to grow within the company. Most of the management team is easy to get along with.

    Cons

No pto and no holiday pay as what they say which is completely opposite of what was written in the job application forms. Also breaks seem to be last thing management thinks of for employees I've gone about 6 hours before getting a single break or lunch.

    Advice to Management

Be clear about what the job requires and what benefits are given to these employees. I will be taking this up with legal matters soon.

    Pros

A lot of money saved by working from home. Chance to move upwards within Amazon. The opportunity to become a blue badge employee.

    Cons

The strict attendance policy and Unpaid time policy needs to be relaxed a bit. I would offer better benefits to seasonal FT employees.

    Advice to Management

Look into relaxing Unpaid Time and attendance to accommodate outages that are out of ones control.

I worked at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Work from Home. Work in your PJ's. No gas expenses. Employee Discounts.

    Cons

Very low salary for very long hours put in. You get the standard $10.00/hour salary for monolingual, bilingual or multiple languages. Bilinguals and more have to do twice the work, but are not being compensated for their language skills. Benefits are too expensive on a $10.00 job, so you end up not getting any. They give you stocks, but if you decide to leave within a year, you have to repay them all, you don't get to keep those stocks as they take everything back. Be very careful! Managers are rude and not that helpful. You are on your own most of the time and the training doesn't cover everything. You get a lot of very angry customers because of bad service or merchandise. You do not get praise for a good job done. Company is very frugal and is always cutting benefits/salary from their employees, even the top performers. Amazon is not for you if you want a career and good salary, regardless of your experience and/or education, because they do not take that into considerations. I decided to leave right after the training was completed, as I can not afford to live on a $10.00/job after tax deduction, even from home.

    Advice to Management

Praise your top performers and make sure they have all the proper materials before being on their own. Stop insulting your top employees with low salaries and expect them to be on call 24/7 just because you allow them to work from home. Managers are very rude and not helpful. Customers will get very mad at you because of company policies, but management will blame it on you and remove points for bad Customer Review, even though it was not your fault. They'll get rid of you without warning once the seasonal high volume calls is over. Stay away if you can!
