I worked at Amazon as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Growth opportunities: I felt like my work was highly valued and I always was working on something meaningful for the team. This came with the associated stress of extremely high expectations
Newest technologies: Working with new technologies (eg. Golang) made my work very interesting and exciting throughout my internship.

    Cons

Stress + Work/Life balance: Team was not particularly social, working late but with not much interaction. Hard to feel like a part of the team.

    Advice to Management

Improve team culture - the particular team I was on did not feel very cohesive and I felt like I did not really have a chance to meet people because of how busy everyone was with work.

    -Intelligent co-workers
    -Good mentorship/management (depending on team)

    Cons

I worked at Amazon as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

SUPER interesting problems to solve. I was excited about the project I had been given and eager to go to work. My coworkers were all smart and very nice. WLB is team dependent but mine was great.

    Cons

Corporate culture and people didn't seem to be mission-driven; typical for a company of Amazon's size. Less perks than a SV tech company, anyways.

I worked at Amazon as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great Ownership
You design your project and implement
    Learning curve exponential
    Easy to work from home

    Cons

Lot of ambiguity. Didn't had a project till end of week 2. Varies team by team, my team wasn't prepared for me. Half way through my internship my team had to turnover all its product to other team because my team was handed some new stuff.
University program not at all structured.
    Everyone measured against same bar.

Avoid going on devices. AWS is much better. The principal engineer have the projects scoped for their intern way long before they start while on devices I had to design my own project.

Lot of work sometime stuck in office till 10
