I have been working at Amazon full-time

    Pros

Allot of hours available to work, allot of opportunities to advance and to learn new skills.

    Cons

Breaks are too short and watched too closely.

    Advice to Management

To have a more person to person level of relationship vs just a number feeling.

I have been working at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

10 hour work days on your feet and a huge facility, mean if you’re looking to lose some weight, you will. Opportunity to advance fairly quickly for those that work hard. Four 10 hour days mean a good work/life balance. Pretty good work culture. Able to be exposed to a lot of product.

    Cons

Depending on your assigned job, the work can be demanding or extremely monotonous. A lot of people work at the facility generally, so sometimes you’re made to feel like just a number, but the company does an okay job trying to alleviate that. Leadership could be more diverse.

I have been working at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Amazon looks good on your resume

    Cons

Female vs Male pay upholds the 20% variance the U.S. quotes in unequal pay for equal work. Women must meet 120% of job requirements when applying to internal jobs, men only need about 50% of the required skills or experience. Management will actively promote men over women regardless of experience or ability to deliver results. Divisions are actively competing against one another rather than encouraged to collaborate (which would save the company money in the long-term). If you happen to be the single woman at the L10 or L8 level you'll receive more scrutiny than your male counterparts. If you are a woman, you will need to "fall in line" while you see men with less experience get praise and promotion. Women: Beware!

    Advice to Management

Working at Amazon is like being in a relationship with an abusive spouse. The golden handcuffs are not as shiny as the male counterparts. The inclusion index is very poor. If you are seeking change then address these problems. If you are fine with status quo, then you will continue to experience mass exits. The attrition rate is astounding yet attitude and leadership style from L10 and below are not changing.
