I have been working at Amazon (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good opportunity and opportunities exist for advancement/cross training. Managers see you as a person and not a number. Only a temp so I really can't comment on company benefits.

    Cons

Micromanage lunches and breaks and you'll get in trouble if you're a minute or two late. Write ups for petty issues. Superhuman rates and if you're not meeting them, you're fired.

    I worked at Amazon full-time

    Pros

    Very Highly motivated work force.

    Cons

Too high for a proper work life balance.

I worked at Amazon part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It worked with my schedule as a perfect second job for extra money. The overnight shift was great. The money was okay for the work. They let you transfer to places closer by your house if you put the work in.

    Cons

A lot of times we were understaffed and still had to meet the deadlines on times as a full staff. A lot of people never show up for the overnight shift so there's always extra work to do. You can tell that management got in trouble A lot for performance of the warehouse because they started to change the rules and make work less fun. Like no music and no talking when the real problem was lack of workers.

    Advice to Management

Before you decide to change things try to figure out exactly what the problem is otherwise you're just adding to the problem and never finding a solution.

I worked at Amazon full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The best reason to work here is for the health benefits. 4 day work week is also nice.

    Cons

They don't care about people they care about numbers...everything is based on how much work you put out. You will get written up for not making rate. Every department has their "favorites" and they can get away with anything.

    Advice to Management

Figure out how to keep department managers long term. Take time to listen to employees.

I worked at Amazon part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Easy to apply! Great job for an active person. A shift for every situation. Can pick up extra shifts when available.

    Cons

The short shifts make a living wage difficult. Short notice flexing the shift up. Sometimes you don't actually know until the buzzer doesn't sound.

    Advice to Management

Make sure your equipment is up to date, as well as logistic practices. A big company using small company equipment makes no sense to be competitive.

I have been working at Amazon part-time

    Pros

-Just about every job here can be learned in a day
    - They do give extra pay for overnight workers
-They actually weed out the lazy workers as best they can
    - Make it easy to change shifts when available
-Sometimes they give gift cards for working longer hours
-My current managers do the best they can to ensure the safety of employees in every form

    Cons

    - NO AIR CONDITIONING IN DLV1!!!!( And we are talking 90 -110+ degree weather)
    - Managers unfortunately play favoritism ( certain people can stay for as many hours as they like)
    - No full time positions ( instead they just create more part time shifts and hire more people)
    - Not many REAL benefits
    - Most equipment work for a day and is broken for like a month afterwards
    - Managers hardly let others do a different job without begging for it
    - HR doesn't really exist ( we have to talk to them through someone and majority of us never meet an actual HR person)
    - Takes way too long for them to train others in other fields
    - Mostly dead end job ( opportunities do happen but not often , at least at DLV1)

    Advice to Management

The management needs to really push for more care at our division instead of sucking up to them to make it look like everything is okay. We could us SO MUCH improvement at this facility that could make everyone happier to be here. As it stands now, this is the most bittersweet job I have ever worked at so far.
