I have been working at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very easy job, great benefit package, decent pay, nice people, and you don't have to talk to anyone if you don't want to!

    Cons

Mandatory overtime 😖 and little or no explanation of chain of command, also little or no explanation of how employees benefits, time off, vacation, or how bereavement works. And mandatory overtime is every week, not what I was told, she said closer to holidays I started in April, I have only had 1 Saturday off.

    Advice to Management

Tone of your voice is everything, record yourself and play it back.... you can slap a smiley face on a condescending tone.

I have been working at Amazon part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

they let you make your own schedule

    Cons

try to make you work outside of your sign on position : continuously call, email and text you to work more hours

    Advice to Management

Everybody does not eat breathe and live Amazon, there is life outside of Amazon

I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Competitive pay, stock options, 4-day full-time work week, decent benefits, voluntary overtime is usually available

    Cons

Revolving management, employees are seen as numbers, interpretation of rules are up to individual managers' discretion, salary cap, limited options for promotion, managers are usually newly hired in (promoting up into management is difficult; this also makes them largely unfamiliar with the job), employees are terribly under-utilized, much of the year you're on mandatory overtime, parts of the year are super slow

    Advice to Management

It's amazon, numbers will be there. If you're really wanting your site to do as well as it could, you need to focus on the people actually doing the work: your regular employees.

I have been working at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay , but you work hard for it, lots of overtime, three days off sounds good but not enough to recuperate

    Cons

I been working the same shift sins I started and been applying every month for different days and the always say "sorry the position is no longer available" when I see that recent hiries get better shifts than employees that been here for mor than a year, it bothers me because I am a good employee that stays on task every day and good at it

    Advice to Management

Stay off the computers and see more was around you and be more human there's no robots around you, is people!

I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fast pace environment, interesting technical challenges with scale and latency challenges. Some really nice people to learn from but lot depends on team

    Cons

Diluted role no real career paths at higher levels , Sr SDE position is diluted with various skill levels for same position

    Advice to Management

Take care of careers not positions

I worked at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some of the pros at amazon warehouse is that they woild sometimes do Giveaways during lunch or for attendance .

    Cons

The cons at amazon warehouse is that they expect you to work really fast 12 hours a day and expect younto meet a ridiculous rate ,picking is the worse position to be at because they can fire you so easily just by building a paper trail of write ups , beng late from break not moving fast enough anything. They constantly hire and fire people in cycles to avoid covering their "great" health insurance.

    Pros

People don't like to cooperate, they like to challenge. Sometimes it is good, sometimes it influence the mood of cooperation.

    Cons

Very customer-focused, always try to create new things.

    Advice to Management

More down to earth and watch what employers have done.

I worked at Amazon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Once hired you can instantly out in for Medical and dental benefits. It was extremely easy to request time off.

    Cons

Not all positions are created equal. Picker for instance, is both physically and mentally demanding. 10 hours of doing the same thing was mind numbing. Not for everyone.

    Pros

    The stock options were good.

    Cons

Did you read the New York Times article about the awful work environment at Amazon? That's what it was like.

    Advice to Management

I can't say that all of the management was bad. But the people I reported to directly were some of the worst managers I've ever dealt with in my life. One word: clueless.
