I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Amazon has a unique culture of everyone working towards a common goal of being earth's most customer centric company. It's amazing to see a company of this size that has people at almost every level who are aligned to Amazon's way of working.

    Cons

It's a really big wheel for the sheer size of the company and it's business. Hence takes a lot of hands to turn this wheel and keep moving it forward.

    Advice to Management

Strategically we need to get faster at innovation. I think there's been some great innovation happening over the years, but we the kind of enthusiasm and excitement that I see in everyone here, I think we can definitely get much faster and better at this.

I worked at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good growth company with good brand image and ESOPS. Good for tech related guys

    Cons

lots of internal politics and no proper training . Found my manager and his manager very unprofessional and failed in providing a congenial atmosphere for utilizing employee's abilities to full extent for the benefit of organization.

    Advice to Management

Try to make culture more dynamic rather than allowing more politics to crop up.

I worked at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay with increases for night shift and weekends
    4 Day work weeks
    Easy Job
Employee Discount at 10% off first $1000 worth of purchases on items sold by Amazon

    Cons

Mandatory overtime pushes you from 40 hour weeks to 60 hours
HR will fire you if you are negative time off even if its only an hour because of a family emergency

    Advice to Management

Cut your employees some slack with their time off and cut down the overtime unless you want more people to fall asleep behind the wheel of a car

I worked at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Good benefits, some perks, independence

    Cons

    Physically challenging work
    Disorganized
    Lack of attention

    Advice to Management

Don't focus all of your attention on the area that is making the 'numbers' you have to report and treat the support staff like nothing. Contests and rewards were all focused on the receivers, while those providing the receivers with product weren't even noticed. When I left my manager didn't even notice for two days.

I have been working at Amazon part-time

    Pros

It CAN be a good side job if you’re that desperate for money. Even better if you’re also in shape because you will be expected to move quickly.

    Cons

None. You think the pay is good until you actually start your first day and realize it’s not really worth the $12 an hour breaking your back 4 days a week. Overnight shifts are worse as it’s always freezing. Favoritism with “ambassadors”. Ambassadors will get to do the easy jobs even though most of them don’t even have to sort. All they do is walk around. Instead of switching people to different stations to see how they fare, they fire you for not making the stupid rate.
