I have been working at Amazon part-time

    Pros

Work is not difficult. Lots of opportunity to interact sociably with coworkers. Good mood.

    Cons

Unsteady hours (business needs might dictate a "flex", so your four hour shift is often actually three or five hours)

I worked at Amazon full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Gained amazing leadership experience and expanded my professional skills dramatically. Great benefits and time off. Great culture

    Cons

Things change very fast, you have to be prepared to keep up and see the bigger picture. Not a work environment for everybody. Can be a bit micromanaging depending on your role and your manager. Amazon is a very metrics-driven company which can be a great thing, but the system they use to measure productivity can sometimes pin teammates against each other and make it competitive for the wrong reasons.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees feedback on their managers.

I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great company, good benefits, lots of opportunities to advance or change careers or locations, offers challenges and ability to try a variety of solutions.

    Cons

Long hours, especially during peak, if you're in a warehouse it's hard on your body and can possibly be on night shift and destroy your social life.

    Advice to Management

Dont forget about the people, try to make it fun. A lot of managers try to but give up, dont give up.

    Pros

Good work environment, good people, responsive

    Cons

    Lots of people, constantly change

    Advice to Management

Try to take account of part-time employees. We know it's difficult to learn names, but people are leaving all the time because they have no ties to the workplace, don't enjoy it, or are focusing on self-development rather than team building.
