I have been working at Amazon part-time for more than a year

    Pros

High energy, lots of teamwork, enthusiastic workers, good pay, plenty of room for learning (you need to show interest) good exercise, new friends, just fun place, good management at my facility. Very helpful.

    Cons

Hired too many people. Sometimes not enough work. Too much VTO offered.

  2. Helpful (1)

Paid fairly, but too much interaction with entry level associates

I have been working at Amazon full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

A good pay, good benefits, set schedule, and casual dress code make this a comfortable place to work.

    Cons

As a higher level manager, I interact too much with entry level associates that have trivial concerns.

  3. Fine as a temporary job, wouldn't work here for more than a few months

I worked at Amazon part-time for more than a year

    Pros

The facility I was at was not nearly as bad as the common horror stories implied. Work was straight forward and area managers weren't as strict with us as you'd ex[ect, which was nice. Coworkers were pretty friendly. If you're a student that's bored during the summer and you don't want to work retail, this job will be your best bet.

    Cons

If you're a remotely fit male or semi-fit female, you are pretty much guaranteed to be loading or unloading trucks for 80-90% of your shifts (which is the hardest work imo). This makes work a drag and makes it easy to burn out. There are days where I pretended to be injured during the pre-shift meeting so that I could have a break and have a slightly less difficult role for the day.

    Advice to Management

Hire more people and try to maintain as many loading-unloading types as possible so that some of us can have a break from it occasionally.

I worked at Amazon full-time for more than a year

    Pros

-Good overtime pay -Work was relatively easy

    Cons

-Not afraid to add additional days of overtime to schedule -Management does not care about you

    Advice to Management

Get more in tune with the HR department, HR and regular managers constantly butted heads when I worked there.

I have been working at Amazon for more than a year

    Pros

Great team and people to work with. There are free food and occasional snacks.

    Cons

Can be very demanding physically so be prepared. Also, you if you're looking to convert its a process that you have to hope for.

    Advice to Management

Hiring so many associates based on what you think may happen during peak season is a bit much. There were several people standing around without work and then people just doing laps. Allow associates that want to stick around be there instead of worrying about a body count.

I worked at Amazon full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    salary and benefits are good

    Cons

a numbers only company...extremely fast paced with tight overseeing ...is definitely not a people oriented company..

    Advice to Management

do not expect an 80 yr old to run the 100yd dash as fast as a 18yr old....there are positions that will benefit both sides when older workers are given the chance

I worked at Amazon full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Good Benefits and Healthcare options.

    Cons

Where do I start? First, pay your workers a living wage. Very labor intensive. Management hears your complaints and does nothing or tells you "it is what it is." Workers under stress to make rate. They hire anyone! Was surrounded by young adults who slacked off and didn't know what they were doing, hence they wouldn't complain when management gave them very difficult tasks. Takes time to move up.

    Advice to Management

You talk about open door policy, and you do listen but do nothing. Please improve workers conditions and pay your employees a living wage. For the work I was doing, I should have at least been getting paid $15 an hour. Very stressful on your body and stress level to keep up rate. Wasn't worth it.

I have been working at Amazon full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Pay is pretty good if it’s your first job plus you receive part of their stock

    Cons

Management treats people like numbers not actually human beings. Amazon standard of how they conduct work is unhumane and stupid. They hire manager based off young students out of college who dont know nothing about how to work in the field in which they are too manage

You'll find any type of people anywhere... Just focus in your work and if u want more or change your role speak up otherwise they will not care

    Advice to Management

Rotate more, and train better the new hires
