I worked at Amazon part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The facility I was at was not nearly as bad as the common horror stories implied. Work was straight forward and area managers weren't as strict with us as you'd ex[ect, which was nice. Coworkers were pretty friendly. If you're a student that's bored during the summer and you don't want to work retail, this job will be your best bet.

    Cons

If you're a remotely fit male or semi-fit female, you are pretty much guaranteed to be loading or unloading trucks for 80-90% of your shifts (which is the hardest work imo). This makes work a drag and makes it easy to burn out. There are days where I pretended to be injured during the pre-shift meeting so that I could have a break and have a slightly less difficult role for the day.

    Advice to Management

Hire more people and try to maintain as many loading-unloading types as possible so that some of us can have a break from it occasionally.

I worked at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    -Good overtime pay
    -Work was relatively easy

    Cons

-Not afraid to add additional days of overtime to schedule
-Management does not care about you

    Advice to Management

Get more in tune with the HR department, HR and regular managers constantly butted heads when I worked there.

I have been working at Amazon (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great team and people to work with. There are free food and occasional snacks.

    Cons

Can be very demanding physically so be prepared. Also, you if you're looking to convert its a process that you have to hope for.

    Advice to Management

Hiring so many associates based on what you think may happen during peak season is a bit much. There were several people standing around without work and then people just doing laps. Allow associates that want to stick around be there instead of worrying about a body count.

    I worked at Amazon full-time

    Pros

4day 10hr work shift and tuition. reimbursement

    Cons

hard to meet the percentage required. after the 3rd write up they let employees go instead of finding a different department that fits better. when an employee gets injure they don't accommodate and if they accommodate they accommodate them in the same department that they got injured . they don't take in consideration that the employee won't be able to perform their 100% therefore, it makes it hard to meet their percentage quota. also they lose their stocks if placed on a medical leave or leave for absence.

    Advice to Management

Accommodate employees that get injured at the job in other departments. Don't take away their stocks. Accommodate those employees that got injure to the 1st half of their shift instead of their last half of their shift

I have been working at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pay is ok but not worth the mental toll

    Cons

Little human interaction. Picking products for 10 hours basically in a cage while robotics bring you item bins

    Advice to Management

Communication, consistency, follow through, and direction all need to be improved upon

I worked at Amazon part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Company cares about employees' happiness in regards what is made available to all at lunch, breaks, etc. - foosball, air hockey tables, PlayStations, break room - they recently gave everyone a pay raise as of 11/1/2018. Really liked graveyard Shift Managers

    Cons

Too many new employees just stopped showing up after a few days due to shift time/amount of work.

    Advice to Management

Better employee vetting process - add more employees per shift to handle workload.

    Pros

High energy, lots of teamwork, enthusiastic workers, good pay, plenty of room for learning (you need to show interest) good exercise, new friends, just fun place, good management at my facility. Very helpful.

    Cons

Hired too many people. Sometimes not enough work. Too much VTO offered.
