I have been working at Amazon part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

As a seasonal employee, there is slight coverage such as medical and sick leave. Coworkers are nice and helpful. Ambassadors are really helpful when you don’t know how to do a specific job because you are learning multiple key jobs as a warehouse associate. Pay rate is good, for the starting. Just gotta keep working hard and aim for management. You get what you put in overall. Try to take as much VET as possible and put in the effort because management looks at the work you put even when you don’t think so.

    Cons

No unpaid time off yet, and feet hurts after awhile of doing physical labor. A lot of employees quit because of the labor but people come and go and there is always a lot of new hires.

    Advice to Management

Stand up motivation morale is low, I recommend key incentives for employees such as food or something. Currently from my management, their giving us pizza next week because of our hard work which is very appreciated.

I have been working at Amazon part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fixed hours, easy work, weekly pay (if you're seasonal).

    Cons

The easy work can become repetitive very quickly. The equipment always seems to be broken and with as much money as Amazon has coming in, there's no excuse for it.

    Advice to Management

Please replace your equipment more often.

I have been working at Amazon as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very "go get it" culture. Enables you to chase your goals from the start. Provide you with the resources you need to succeed whether that be online lessons or company events to aid development.

    Cons

Cut throat sometimes. Very easy to get discouraged because they want people to fail and learn from it quickly. Managers can be distant sometimes.

    Advice to Management

Focus on aiding the development of future managers. Teach them how to develop others, and you will create a self-sustaining talent pool.

I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Competitive pay and health benefits. Fast development model. Look to hire the best for roles higher than tier I.

    Cons

Company doesn’t screen applicants for FC besides basic background and drug screen. So many associates come in and just don’t want to come to work. FC HR ends up having to deal with basic employee relations and attendance management majority of time. Benefits administration, LOA, many other functions are decentralized so not truly the spot for a HR Generalist.

    Advice to Management

So much focus on associate engagement and retention that support roles are forgotten. Don’t forget the constant beating that support roles have to endure because management will send all problems to support’s way to deal with. Many support roles in the FC are not given the same consideration as associates and other leadership.

I have been working at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You meet cool Tier 1 and Tier 3 associates

    Cons

Management only cares about production, you’re just a number, if you can’t be %100 every shift workin at a fast rate, you’ll be written up, working as a “sorter” you’ll be left at station for hours with no bathroom breaks. Favoritism is out of control, tier 1 associates start at 13.25 per hour, the owner claims he pays %30 percent more than other retailers, when you work in an FC facility you’re doing warehouse work not retail sales work, it’s labor from start to finish and again you have to be fast or they’ll write you up to get rid of you quickly,

    Advice to Management

Employees are aware you’re only for your numbers, no gettin around it, not enough to just have a two minute pep talk at stand up.

I worked at Amazon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Decent checks & easy job

    Cons

-Hard to balance a social life with 10 hour shifts.
-Constantly being pushed to work faster.
-Breaks being cut in order to make it back to station on time
    - Hour system for time off could be done better.
    - No sympathy if you go negative on hours (heard of a co-worker going negative on hours because his brother had been shot and he was still sadly let go from Amazon)

    Advice to Management

Stop treating your employees like robots.

I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Growth Opportunities, Salary, Challenging Work,
Customer Devotion. These are all of the things that Amazon has to offer. Plus, you can work pretty much wherever you want to across the globe.

    Cons

Unrealistic Expectations. There are a ton of silos, particularly in the fulfillment and operations world. However, having the right people around you can help with this.

    Advice to Management

Don't be so caught up in the way things are, be open to new possibilities. There are a lot of great ideas out there if you would only just listen to the people that you represent. After all, that's what made Amazon so great in the first place.
