I have been working at Amazon part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Work from home. Able to schedule hours to suit your needs. Supportive co-workers and extensive paid training.

    Cons

Isolated. Not very much leeway in absences or time off. Incredibly corporate structured.

    Advice to Management

Give new employees more training time with management. Help to decrease stress that way and will keep people from dropping out during the training process.

I worked at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The environment was fun and exciting each day.
    Coworkers were typically nice.
Management seemed to actually care about me and would give positive feedback while good constructive criticism.

    Cons

    Strict schedules.
Customers could get pretty irate and it was hard to deal with sometimes.

    Advice to Management

If there’s any way to make schedules a little more flexible that would be great.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Amazon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits are better than most companies, 11$/hr during training, 1 hour lunch, game room (site specific), lots of free food is given throughout the year, lot of chances for OT

    Cons

Not enough pay, poor management, hard to get time-off even if it's unpaid, you are censored unless you're a liberal, spiteful HR agents can get you fired

    Advice to Management

Give lower associates opportunities to explain themselves to HR when going to get fired. Also, switch regular associates into management positions when seen fit. Revise the good standing policies.

    - will work with disabled, and people attending school to succeed
    - great benefits and bonus's
-creatively able to troubleshoot and handle problems that are faced by customer.
I love my job at Amazon!!! I was a quality engineer for 22 years and went into early retirement. I got bored and decided to apply. I'm so happy I did! This is one of the most fun and gratifying positions that I ever had.

    Cons

-compensation could be better considering the work but its still ok
-fast paced environment that is constantly changing
-if you need your hand held this is NOT the position for you
-sometimes the systems can go wonky making it a hard day
-this is a metrics based position and you have to work hard to keep them up if you want to succeed, and sometimes no matter how hard you try you will fail because its basically up to the customer to grade you.

    Advice to Management

-less micromanaging, bring in the changes before we are faced with them. Re-construct the metric system to be on a more fair basis

I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Work from home, quarterly merit based bonuses

    Cons

Customers can treat you horribly, everything is merit based, don't get paid enough to be screamed at, nothing changes in procedures.

    Advice to Management

Make it easier on your agents to hand off belligerent customers. We don't get paid enough to be screamed at, called names, and berated, and then be expected to do it with a smile.
