I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Amazon is a place to do innovation and run down your ideas to provide exceptional customer service in the competitive market. Whether you are a developer, manager, or any other position, you would always find yourself thinking outside of the box and working backward from customer. You will get challenged and learn so much that you would never find such an experience from any other company. Simply, being Amazonian is a place to bring down your brainstorm to a unique customer solution. In short, as slogan say - Work hard, have fun, make history.

    Cons

Sometime you might find overwhelming with so much going on in your basket, but we recommend you that you manage your time and priority well.

I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Cool new products to work. Transparent decision making with co-workers. Open discussions to debate points of view.

    Cons

Company can be too frugal when it comes to RSU compensation. Senior management slow to stop projects during development phases if data is not favorable.

I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Awesome technologies
    Very smart people
    Fast pace - Agile
Very cool problems to solve everyday in terms of cloud computing and scalability
Very flexible switching groups policy - internal process is amazing for this.

    Cons

On-call rotation on most of the teams. (24/7 support for customer impacting issues)(in general 1 week every 6 weeks)
    Some managers are inexperienced.
Some groups are lacking diversity. You can easily find yourself in an Indian mostly org or Chinese mostly org.

    Advice to Management

Interview process is meant to raise the bar but managers are bringing people from India with an internal transfer process. Those people don't always meet the bar. Please, please, please make people coming with an internal transfer from India go trough a similar process as the people that are hired directly in Seattle or San Jose. It's not fair for the coworkers and not efficient for the company to lower the bar!!!

I have been working at Amazon part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible schedule that's pretty much it, not sure what else to say in the Pros.... very long pause people get along well.

    Cons

Underpaid, low fill rates, unstructured, no benefits, picking up hours is first come first serve. Constantly being blown up through email & text to work. HR doesn't help one bit don't even bother. Constantly busy. Most new hires leave after two weeks. Not full time, but yet feels like it. Hours fluctuate constantly. 20hrs a week at times. Can't go over 40hrs.
