I worked at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Easy work, a zombie could work here or someone completely brain dead. Easiest job I have ever had and my manager was great.

    Cons

Pay is very bad, you start at $11.50 an hour and in three years you are topped out at $13.50. No challenge at all and no advancement.

I have been working at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good work environment....Amazon is pretty good about treating their employees well with food and good health benefits and prizes every now and then

    Cons

10hrs a day and 11hrs during peak up to 60hrs per week during peak...it’s exhausting to work this much...also not a place to make good money

    Advice to Management

Pay employees better and don’t make us work so many hours

I worked at Amazon full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are no positive side to working at Amazon ! I was there for 4 and a half years and that was way too long !

    Cons

If you are in pick or stow you will never be able to transfer to another job because the turnover rate is so high. Expect to walk close to 15 miles each day ! Closer to 20 during peak season ! You have no personal life if you work at amazon. The management's goal is to try to break the spirt of hard working people. No matter how much you pick it will never be enough they will always expect more out of you. Management is only interested in hearing a "success story" they don't want to hear the truth about anything. If you have a question the answer you will get is " That's a good call out, we'll get back to you on that" Don't hold your breath they will never get back to you. I would never send anyone to amazon! My advice is if you can hold on long enough take the annual employee buyout and never look back !

    Advice to Management

Try treating your employees with respect and like they are human beings not machines !

I worked at Amazon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Mindless job, did not require critical thinking. Low mental stress. Consistent start time. Good health insurance plan. Benefits start day 1.

    Cons

Mindless work. Some days mindless is good, sometimes it is too boring. Very physical work. Pay was a little on the low side. Pay increases based on how long you have been there, not on how hard you work.

    Advice to Management

Merit based raises instead of time based raises.

    Pros

    Competitive pay for warehouse work
    Good benefits
    More off days per week

    Cons

Management doesn't really care about your success
Policies change too frequently to be truly successful
Warehouse has extremely limited opportunity for advancement
(Just like the military, crap rolls down hill, and here it has extra grease)

    Advice to Management

Don't fix something that isn't broken. Creating a cycle of bad policy changes will have an effect on productivity in a negative way.
