    Pros

Good pay and benefits thats about it.

    Cons

Upper management, communication and everything else

    Advice to Management

Help on all shifts, not just days. Work on the floor and see how stressful it can be. Give support on night shifts, they are never aroud.

  3. "Global sales director"

    Pros

People, project work and the ability to develop package solutions for customers. Good knowledgeable people. Very technically sound with a strong sense of pride at the plants. Capability to support multiple materials for customer preferences

    Cons

Ability to compete in a very competitive market has been a challenge. Especially with specific ROI guidelines to be met. Graham has always been able to build and hold long term relationships with customers. But recently with management changes those relationships have been a struggle.

    Advice to Management

Must consider developing stronger face to face relationships with customers.

I worked at Amcor Rigid Plastics full-time

    Pros

The pay and benefits are pretty good

    Cons

There is no work/life balance with 24/7 expectations. Corporate management micro-manages everything. The plants continue to get leaner while corporate continues to grow which is an unhealthy direction. There is very little to no real concern for employees.

    Pros

    Really good benefits.
    Flexible work schedules.
    Opportunity to travel.

    Cons

In the Procurement realm of things middle management is not very good.
Managers state that you can volunteer for projects and then when you do you are looked down upon.

    Advice to Management

From a Procurement standpoint you need to listen to what your employees really want and work with them to achieve it.

    Pros

Life balance. You can work your 8-9h a day. Pays is good.

    Cons

No opportunity to grow. The worst environment possible. Managers try to undermine staff in order to not be outshined. Constant ego fights and no concern to career and development. HR is totally lost.

Not good with new ideas. Lost in time and too much effort on keeping everything the same.

    Advice to Management

Just look at the company and hire decent people

I have been working at Amcor Rigid Plastics full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Busy environment, uses relatively up to date technology, and is data driven. Profitable company that has been buying competition and new business segments.

    Cons

Very lean workforce, not strong focus on development of personnel, limited in-company promotions. Current company model is more sales/ accounting focused and not production focused.

I have been working at Amcor Rigid Plastics (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Bottom-line driven company where financial goals are observed and understand throughout all leadership positions. Has an aggressive growth strategy and is a dynamic work environment that will challenge you; you will come out on the other side a stronger manager. Is focused on the customer and quality.

    Cons

Cost constraints are a reality of the industry and most of manufacturing today. But capital monies do always appear for those key "must do" items. It is a fairly flat organization, by design, so it can be hard to build bench strength and don't expect a promotion every two years (there are no assistant managers of cat toys). Always have a plan and be ready to explain with facts and data to keep things on track. Very tight focus on Cost to Produce can be dangerous if not kept in to perspective and balanced against quality, safety and productivity.

    Advice to Management

Overall is a well run company that works to balance short term profit needs with a longer term plan while dealing with a highly volatile core customer base that exerts unique sway.

    Cons

Just the long slow 12 hour shifts .
