I worked at Amec Foster Wheeler full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you're a hard working individual who likes to be challenged Amec Foster Wheeler is the place for you. They offer great office and team environments that will help you grow as a professional and excel in your field. If given the opportunity I would take a job with Amec.

    Cons

-There seems to be a lack of communication between managers and employees. The managers seem to want us (the employee) to know exactly how they (the managers) want things done.
-For the amount o f work we put in, we were relatively low paid. 50/60 hour weeks while our managers left early is never a good scenario.
-There is a total lack of communication between management and employees. If something is wrong, tell your employee. Do not leave them hanging until they ultimately fail.

    Advice to Management

    Communicate, communicate, communicate!
Show your team what you expect from them. Giving us broad descriptions of what you want leaves us confused, and will cause delays down the road.
    Again...communicate.

I have been working at Amec Foster Wheeler full-time

    Pros

The people in my direct group are great, including my boss and team coworkers. All super knowledgeable and easy to work with.

    Cons

Have to fight tooth and nail to get any kind of promotion or raise. The company is very, very cheap with employees, any spending, etc.

    Advice to Management

Don't try to only pay/give employees the bare minimum for the hard work they're doing.

I have been working at Amec Foster Wheeler full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Somewhat of an entrepreneurial environment given size of company.

    Cons

Senior management presents as confused about our markets and service offerings. Impactful change is rare due to the perception of a lack of accountability at higher levels.

    Advice to Management

Promote more inclusion to create a culture of staff feeling engaged in the future direction of offices.

I have been working at Amec Foster Wheeler full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Even though the acquisition of FW by Amec led to a lot of departures of talent, there are some good people and leadership remaining with the company.
