I have been working at Amec Foster Wheeler full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible work schedule, Good opportunities to move up if you put in the work.
Project bonus structure is nice. Pay scale is good, not top but not bottom.
If you want to expand your knowledge and take on more responsibility you can. The sky is the limit here, but you have to search for these opportunities. Like most promotions they don't get handed to you. Nice steady backlog of work in parts of the company.

    Cons

very segmented business structure. It tough to work with and do business with other parts of the company. No ERP or common systems or processes. You basically have to re-invent the wheel every project. Company is large so sometimes it's tough to know what other parts of the company does. Various departments in the company are backwards and don't add value to project teams.

    Advice to Management

Sell internally how we can better align as a company. Stop leaving people in positions that don't add value.

I worked at Amec Foster Wheeler full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Excellent benefits. Amazing, knowledgeable, hard-working coworkers. Nice office building with competent HR department. Travel with work was well accommodated. Our department manager was very nice!

    Cons

My department was not very developed. Having a masters degree they still had me work under someone with a bachelors. Made me work under people with significantly less experience. Hard to get them to listen if you are new. Pay was terrible.

    Advice to Management

Pay employees market value. Direct your employees and really use them for what you hired them to do rather than limiting them by making them work under people with little or no experience.

I have been working at Amec Foster Wheeler part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

They were winning some good projects at one time and the work can be interesting. They have good benefits and salary.

    Cons

Management changed and work flow changed so less emphasis on design work or so it seems. Haven't won any work in quite some time.

    Advice to Management

Probably need to look at role of management especially in scope definition and management of change for large scale projects.
