    Pros

MACTEC is a large company with all the benefits that entails, but each office has a small, almost mom n pop feel to it. Management actually does a good job (on average) of listening to its employees, and evryone is made to feel an integral part of a projects success (or failure). Accolades, and blame, are shard equally and accurately.

    Cons

My particular job is a tad different from most of the other disciplines in the company; sometimes its like the engineers and I arent even speaking the same language. The bureaucracy can be hard to deel with. As near as I can tell, the IT department is manned by poorly trained chimps.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employess. We all enjoy working for MACTEC already, it wont take much to keep us happy.

    Pros

It was a consulting firm, with interesting projects. Easy to work atmosphere, outgoing collegues, and an understanding management made me produce more work .

    Cons

Big office, sometimes its hard to build a close relationship with everybody.I hated my HR
    No other downsides as such.

    Advice to Management

There should be more meetings at work. More effective communication between the big bosses.
More training and mentoring should be provided .

    Pros

nice bldg. and good location. Flex time Great. Catered lunches you can buy and a lounge was build.

    Cons

a mens world there. some managers have never been managers and are promoted to rapidly into positions. Hard to get kudo's

    Advice to Management

To much mgmt. turnover. PM's need to be more involved on Projects and keep employees that are able & willing to communicate with Clients. The procurement dept. needs a make-over (no personality)

    Pros

Good place to work as a fresher. Amazing starting salary for a new joiner.

    Cons

Overtime pay is not given completely. It is half the number of hours you work. This is really bad. Annual raise is very less. It is hardly 2000$ that is nothing.

    Advice to Management

Please increase the annual raise and introduce policies to retain youngsters. Stocks is one good option.

    Pros

the company has good benefits, big company, good projects

    Cons

offices are very independent, so it depends on local management on the environment of the office. in my case the office had many managers that don't know that they are doing, but since they are the managers nobody checks what they are doing....... if it slows down, they let you go.

    Advice to Management

    none

    Advice to Management

Establish a better training program or advancement program. Seems "Non-Key" employees are not appreciated.

I worked at Amec Foster Wheeler part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Friendly co-workers, decent pay, work with you right out of high school, company community events

    Cons

The nature of the industry is that it is often feast or famine. The amount of work varies a lot, which can be difficult if you need a steady paycheck (depending on pay type).
