I worked at Amedisys full-time for more than a year

    Pros

-Meet and spoke to some interesting folks; there are still peers from this place that I still keep up with. -Gained needed experience.

    Cons

-Very poor communication among management amongst teams intra-departmentally and across the board inter-departmentally (i.e. Operations pushing out updates with out informing tech support, tech support receives an overwhelming number of incoming phone calls and complaints, nobody knows why the day's volume is so high so they finally start asking questions, Ops. confesses to an update, a message is sent out via... national support phone line making staff aware of issues, metrics are so poorly flawed from the volume of the day that management then turns to their own support staff to point the finger, berate, and question us as to what the problem was). -Blatant distrust of employees despite numerous times of stressing during on-boarding that mgmt. has your back in a heated situation. -While processes are always changing to try to keep their heads above water, if a support tech forgets any minor details of the new policies, then that employee is berated for not keeping up, or accused of not taking good enough notes. In essence, it's assumed a problem is never fault of management. -There is way too much trickle down in this company; the little man doing the everyday work never gets the credit deserved.

    Advice to Management

-Management should remember that the employees have lives outside of work and can't stay late all the time because you're short-handed. -Don't make the people that make you look good angry.

    Pros

Like a family, everyone is very close and helps each other.

    Cons

Lots of hours and always a lot of change

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Amedisys full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The experience looks good on your resume, and the pay is ok. Healthcare is an industry with a great mission and a chance to touch people's lives... but Amedisys isn't great for that.

    Cons

the executives really just don't have any idea what they're doing, and they bounce around new ideas, layoff people, cut departments, add them back, change incentive plans, reorganize people... all kinds of busy-ness in the hope that something works. Hope ain't a strategy.

    Advice to Management

Cut the BS, stop guessing, and remember that you're messing with people's lives. Think about how your new ideas and processes eat up time and take people away from doing things that actually generate value for the company.

I have been working at Amedisys full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

It's a large company and can look good on a resume.

    Cons

No loyalty to employees. Management is often hired as "favors" for friends which means there are very many unqualified in upper management. There are no raises or bonuses for the staff (minus upper management). People have left or been laid off and barely any of these positions have been refilled, making for an even heavier workload. The parking lot is now bare compared to when I started 3 years ago. Then there... are the lawsuits and fraud. Agree with previous review, sinking ship.

Too late. Jump of the ship.
