      Pros

Love the work I do each and every day; I work with a great team.

      Cons

Expects more and more for less; Nurses are expected to work 50-60 hours per week; Nurses are on call 8-9 days a month in addition to working 40+ hours per week; Nurses are expected to work a full day with little to no sleep after being on-call; However, if management helps overnight, they do not work a full day the next day; Our care center has been short two nurses for months with no help offered from corporate or other care centers; I took a PTO day and was expected to do the see all my patients in 4 days instead of 5; Nurses are frequently asked to do unnecessary work, such as double-charting and recompleting forms that have already been done; My current job is wrecking havoc on my health and my family

      Pros

You get to get close to some very sweet people and learn their story.

      Cons

You could be the only aide which means you have to cover all the counties your office is over, that's not a bad thing really because you get paid gas milage... here's the problem, when your doing all counties and you have 10 patients in one day you need to choose the fastest driving route or you'll never make it in time and there is a cut off time where you're unable to visit so then you must add them to your next day which means more patients. This company doesn't care about that and they will write you up for taking the fastest route and not the shortest distance even if it is only like 5 miles difference.

      No micromanagement

      Pros

Got to work out in the field, other than productivity, we were not micromanaged. Weekly meetings discussed patients in teams. Got to spend all the time I wanted with patients. 30 mins to 1.5 hours

      Cons

No budget for shower chairs or anything like that. Patients had to purchase all of their own adapted equipment, and most couldn't afford it. Coworkers snuck reachers and things to the patients that we purchased or were donated, as it was against the rules to give patients gifts. But it's hard to tell someone they need a shower chair and them not be able to afford it.

Amedisys cares about their stock price not their patients!

      May 14, 2021 - Manager

      Pros

Advancement is available but unfortunately they put people in management positions that don’t have leadership skills and creates a toxic environment

      Cons

The bigger they get with all their acquisitions -only senior leadership benefit with huge salaries and bonuses and instead of sharing with the employees on the front lines making a difference in patients and families lives they take away benefits and truly should do more for their employees. Bigger is not better. Their is something more special about private companies and how they care more about their patients and employees but they are getting all bought up by Amedisys and that hurts all of us.
