I have been working at Amedisys full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Amedisys is a company with a focus on excellent patient care. The company is dedicated to becoming the employer of choice. Employee input is a major decision factor in how the company moves forward with benefits and technology.

    Cons

Healthcare, especially home health, is an ever-changing field. You must be able to adapt and take change in stride to be successful.

    Advice to Management

Continue to adapt to the ever-changing workforce. Also, keep your focus on finding benefits that employees find the most rewarding

I worked at Amedisys full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Access to large number of resources. If you perform well, you gain a voice in the company.
The Amedisys brand can carry some weight in some markets and help give some leverage in the sale.

    Cons

Employees are commodities at this company, but strong management in some markets can make this a good place to work. Location, location, location.
Operations driven company. Sales takes the fall for many Ops shortcomings across the board.
High burn out and turnover levels.

    Advice to Management

The company is running too lean. It cannot become an employer of choice when actual practices do not line up with company pillars.
Management is top heavy, and losing many strong people who actually do the work. Too many delegators, which leads to too many assignments for the number of human capital. Paralysis by analysis.

    Advice to Management

come up with a way to train employees on your system and expectations

I worked at Amedisys full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Working with the patients in their homes.

    Cons

Management never keeps their word. Corporate greediness. I worked for my money, then I had to fight for it each payday. Never out on time because of late admits. fight for time off that you have already earned.

    Advice to Management

Keep your word to your employees, we come to work pay us without the hassles. you wouldn't like it if we didn't do what we promised.

I worked at Amedisys full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good patient care and highly customer oriented. Quick turnaround for patient care like is promoted

    Cons

Poor management, too many people with input on employees and not enough input given from employees to management as this is discouraged. Lack of training and too quick to get trained and get reps out in the field to sell and sell a lot quickly.

    Advice to Management

Take a hard look at your guy in the Northeast managing as he has the poorest people skills I have every seen. He treats the representatives with little to no respect and needs some serious personality training. His skills in pumping up people are fair but the rest of his work ethic and respect is the worst I have ever seen. Sorry hopefully if you review this you know who I am referring to and take action or the Long Island/ Northeast Region will continue to have huge turnover and no real continuity of people in territories to build sales momentum
