I have been working at Amerant Bank

    Pros

Benefits are OK. Training and development is very basic and outdated. Managers are very competent, and understanding. There is opportunity for growth. It is a very friendly environment and a happy atmosphere.

    Cons

Human Resources is mediocre. The South American mentality of upper management works for the bank in Venezuela, it is expected to also work in the US. During budget cuts, the ones who suffer are the employees, because we fail to work as a team and cut cost where money is being wasted. Politics are disgusting, but that's an issue almost everywhere.

I have been working at Amerant Bank

    Pros

Good life balance and understanding managers that realize you have a life outside of work. Managers are very accessible to everyone

    Cons

Many of issues regarding pay have to flow through a slow system and into Human Resources and it takes long to get things done
