    Pros

The absolute only reason to work here would be the benefits

    Cons

Very caddy environment. A lot of harassment with higher up management. Unprofessional

    Advice to Management

Find someone who is willing to work fairly and not harass certain employees because they aren't your "friends". Someone as high on the chain as you are should know better. Start appreciating all blood, sweat, and tears that people put into their jobs and start doing yours the right way!

I have been working at Ameren full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Our CEO and Executive team have a great vision and engage employees.

    Cons

Our first line supervisors and mostly incompetent at people leadership. They are typically very knowledgeable in their field but are clueless when it comes to getting people motivated to meet their full potential.

    Advice to Management

Retrain/train supervisors in leadership skills. Make this mandatory so that the direction of the Executives trickles down to the first line.

I have been working at Ameren full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Employees are very passionate about what they do whether they are lineman or support staff. You work with smart people every day.

    Cons

Culture is inconsistent across the organization. Business practices are that should be common in all areas are not because a leader has always done it a certain way. Some employees want to be innovate and change but still there are many that have been at the organization for 20-25+ years and don't know how or don't want to do things any other way. You have to be resilient to make progress even on things that would be easy "yes" at other organizations

    Advice to Management

When you ask "How does X do this?" or "What does everyone else do?", this doesn't spur innovating thinking. Instead, ask "Help me understand why this is better than what others are doing?" or "Why will our customers value this more?"

    Great benifit

    Cons

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Ameren full-time

    Pros

The company has good health benefits, but no training really. You have to learn everything the hard way by doing it wrong and hoping it doesn't go REALLY wrong so you'll be around to learn and do it right the next time.

    Somewhat stable

    Name recognition

    Cons

Workloads are ridiculous with new continuous improvement policies, employees left feeling hopeless and moral is at rock bottom.

    Bad vacation policy

Engineers should unionize like Boeing engineers, engineers are dumped on and if you don't get it done you're on your own, no one's getting hired to help. Basically you're fired or you have to quit.

    Advice to Management

Hire some people and stop outsourcing everything, there will be nobody left that works for "Ameren" pretty soon!
