    Pros

    It's a paycheck.... for awhile

    Cons

Ridiculous metrics, endless reports and "teleconferencing". Marketing dept. provides 10 yr. old data bases plucked from Thomas Registry that don't even use the product. If your not a sycophant to middle management, forget it! Don't work for a company owned by a holding company.

    Advice to Management

Adjust business model to meet current market conditions. Factor in local market variations to set goals. Listen to your employees, their the ones in the trenches.

    Pros

bc of the tremendous workload you will not get bored and have the ability to make a difference to the overall bottom-line on a daily basis. Some departmental employees do work well together although dissatisfied

    Cons

First and foremost, management is totally in the dark and does not care about employee feedback in the slightest. If you speak up, you might as well pack your bags even if it is for the good of the company. There is no quality assurance or much feedback of your overall performance bc management does not value employees, pay needs to equate to industry standard and raises do not equal the standard yearly increases cost of living/inflation, very little seperation between work/life balance, overworked and dissatisfied employees, promises are made about work culture/and overall workload and they do not follow through

Proceed with caution when considering a job offer with AG.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees to improve overall efficiencies, do not have the "everyone is replacable" mentality, make sure that this is some quality assurance in the overall accuracy of work to lessen back-end issues, improve overall communication from corporate to field so that everyone is on the same page, make your employees feel valuable instead of acting as if you are running a sweat shop

I have been working at AmeriGas full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Have many great people working there

    Cons

Sr. Management is only focused on money. High pricing. While SR. management continues to receive bonuses annually....large bonuses, employees go without, get minimal payraises, and have to reach unrealistic goals to get even a small bonus. Employees hours are cut during summer, but large bonuses continue to go to upper levels

    Advice to Management

Without customers, we have no business. Price fairly. Without employees, we cannot service customers. Instead of giving upper levels huge bonuses, share the wealth that actually do the hard work and get the gas delivered.

    Advice to Management

Be qualified for the job with experience not a degree but no real world knowledge

I have been working at AmeriGas full-time

    Pros

There are a lot of very good people who work for this company. Most employees are very helpful and willing to go the extra mile

    Cons

    Poor Management
    Stressful working environment
    No work-life balance
    Extremely political environment
    Tremendous backstabbing

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. Management needs to take responsibility for their own poor decisions instead of blaming others

I worked at AmeriGas full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A job, they always have openings since their turn over is very high, plenty of overtime or what they remind you constantly is "mandatory overtime".

    Cons

Extremely political environment, their policy is "if you don't like it there's the door", extreme micro management, my office had 4 managers and 7 employees, management formed their little club and did nothing all day but have meetings, they had no idea what was involved in our daily work duties and could not understand why we had trouble finishing the piles and piles of paperwork.

    Advice to Management

Praise a job well done, recognize accomplishments and sacrifices, treat people with respect, do not belittle or humiliate employees by yelling in front of others, if something needs to be addressed you have an office with a door. learn the ins and outs of what is involved in performing daily work assignments. Here is a great idea, treat employees like human beings.

I worked at AmeriGas full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Insurance benefits that is all I can say, oh and do not count on that year end bonus. The district managers take most of it for their bonus and split the rest over their favorites.

    Cons

Lies lies and more lies. Beware of upper management, district managers and god forbid you fill out the survey on why you quit! Be careful it all gets back to your former manager and who you work with and HR will deny they sent it on to your manager and make you look like a fool!

    Advice to Management

Your employees make your money, not your customer. Treat them well and they won't quit on you!

    Advice to Management
