I have been working at America II full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

If you started 5-10 years ago and management likes you, then you are in a good spot.

    Cons

Starting now is a nightmare, the account base is so watered down. Not alot to make a living off of.

    Advice to Management

Give more accounts to the young hungry reps that show promise

I worked at America II full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I enjoyed working with many of the people there. Vacation time for major holidays is nice for spending time with family.

    Cons

Management. Lack of direction. Inadequate sales training. Sales compensation was average at best. Questionable business practices. Human Resources is oblivious and ineffective for a company of that size. HR appears to turn a blind eye to serious, well known issues occurring.

    Advice to Management

Advice is useless when it falls on deaf ears.

I worked at America II full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    A lot of great people
    Few good managers
    A decent Work/Life balance

    Cons

    The WORST HR
    Pay - well under average
    Rarely promotes within
    Most managers play favoritism

    Advice to Management

This could take a lot of time but it would not do any good. It's all been said numerous times. But due to favoritism, everything is just swept under a rug. Upper management should check up on other managers and their actions, especially when they travel.

I worked at America II full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Like some others have said, the people there are great and it had that "family" feeling.

    Cons

I worked there for over 16 years and was suddenly let go with no reason given and no warning. I always showed up early, sought out ways to make the department more efficient, got along with everyone and that is what they do to me?

    Advice to Management

Treat those who have stuck it out with some respect. Don't just look at profit margin for you.

    Pros

Great atmosphere and culture, long term opp is good, good for entry level w rights manager fit.

    Cons

The pay is very low for this kind of work. The pay grade is for inside telesales but they want strategic account mamagement.

    Advice to Management

The upper mamagement has a vision but no plan, and no way for sales people to get there and then mentality on the floor is churn, burn and rip the deal. It's time to decide what kind of company America II wants to be.

I worked at America II full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Culture seems open and family oriented, but in reality it is not. If you like to socialize, this is a good company, but if you want to work, get ahead, and earn any money-stay fr away.

    Cons

No work ethic, upper management refuses to talk with anyone or receive feedback. They treat humans like barn animals. They do not reward based on merit, but instead reward low performers with no work ethic. If you work out in the gym, or play ping pong, then you will get rewards. They have the most condescending way of talking down to people.

During the interview, they promise upward mobility, and reward based on merit, but if you have the wrong manager there is nothing you can do. And there is no way to move to a different manager. Some managers have no training and no management skills. They walk around all day and BS or babysit.

There is 0 communication. One manager might encourage you to get out into the office and learn from coworkers in other areas, and when you do that manager will literally scream at you in front of everyone.

I came in very early, never took a lunch, stayed late and out performed everyone in my area. But when I had a personal emergency, they acted like I was lying to go fishing.

They openly consume alcohol on the premises, and allow managers to work drunk or hung over.

There are too many crazy distractions, like the constant track of very loud music- and it is always 80's hair bands. It never changes. And people walking around throwing things, and those who are swept up in the distractions just start BSing with each other. This is non stop, so if you are trying to do your job well, they make it impossible.

No one ever gives you props for work well done or for exceeding your goals. They simply pick on the one thing you are doing wrong, even if it is minor or irrelevant to the job. Every day someone tells you that you might be fired, so it is stressful.

And the company is in the stone age, with mountains of paper, and they are sill trying not very successfully to move from a DOS based system-no joke.

Any the commissions are terrible. Even if you exceed your quotas by several hundred percent, there is no reward.

They have these contests every day that only reward what might happen by luck or chance. They claim to want to build long term, wide and deep customer relationships, but they reward burning the customer.

    Advice to Management

Get on board with a plan. Hire actual sales managers. Get off of your tower, and develop the people you have who are working. Stop laying off people who you have not helped and hiring fresh people to abuse. Take care of the people who are there with honest intentions to work, and stop rewarding laziness.
