    Pros

Nothing! Do not believe anything they tell you.

    Cons

They lie, do not communicate, and are extremely rude. I have been in mortgages for 6 years, and this is by far the most unorganized company ever. During my time there 0 contract dates were met!

    Advice to Management

    Close down!

I worked at American Bank full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

None they lie too get you in. You'll make 300 plus calls a day all cold calls even though they tell you their warm leads. Their is a long time too move too Banker unless you have a friend who works as a banker. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere

    Cons

Everything it's a bank that no one has heard off they pay for leads. Management is clueless and they expect you too generate business for the bankers. Overall one of the worst experiences I've ever had.

    Advice to Management

Stop all the lying about how much money you can make and tell people the truth it's a cold calling high stress environment. And quit acting like your a big bank your don't probably why your being bought out

I worked at American Bank full-time

    Pros

Great reputation. No sales goals. Enjoyed the people I worked with.

    Cons

Mid level management is very narrow minded has been in place for years and there is no acceptance for improved processes. Many settle and choose to go with the flow for a paycheck than to request change for fear of causing a stir. Very political work environment. It is a shame upper management is oblivious and/or chooses to turn a blind eye because bank management is their own handicap to increased profits, improved camaraderie work environments and retaining worthy employees.

    Advice to Management

Ask your employees how management is doing--Annual Performance Reviews should not be one-sided. Reprimands should be delivered equally across the board.

I worked at American Bank full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fantastic work culture and environment. Super down to earth employees and management.

    Cons

Its a cold calling high pressure sells telemarketing job. Thrown on the phones right away with high expectation to generate leads for the bankers but don't train you at all or explain the products. If you can lie / bs confidently then you could do well.

    Advice to Management

Don't mislead people during the interview about what the job is with terms like warm leads or client relations. Aquire quality leads and spend a week or two to properly train your employees.

I have been working at American Bank part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Close group of people. Relaxed. Since it's owned by one owner, they base EOY bonus on earnings. Very strong community bank. Well respected in the community.

    Cons

Since it is a small bank, it's harder to get promotions. You may have to spend more time in a position than you prefer. They will let people go within the first 90 days if you don't do your job.

    Advice to Management

Walk around and get to know the staff.
