I have been working at American Board of Family Medicine full-time (More than 5 years)
Very flat organization where everyone knows each other. Lots of respect for each other. It is like a family. Awesome benefits.
Not much opportunity for upward advancement due to very little turnover. There really isn’t anything else to be considered a con.
I worked at American Board of Family Medicine full-time (More than 3 years)
Good benefits and time off. Flexibility in scheduling to assist with work/life balance. Friendly and welcoming staff.
Some departments, mainly administration, are not afforded the same policy benefits as others in terms of flexible work hours and lunches. There has also been a history of micromanagement and inflexibility to change. However, these cons do not seem prevalent in the IT and Communications divisions.
Advice to Management
Make sure that policies are enacted the same across the board for all departments.
- wonderful working environment
- manageable work load
- good benefits
- very laid back, potential to become complacent
- no bonus plan
- flat hierarchy, no growth
