I worked at American Career College full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Worked in admissions for about a year and learned a lot! It was my first job working in a medium sized corporation. Though I agree the management from directors is hit and miss the regional director and VP at the time were awesome to learn from and always kind to me. Know if you are going to admissions you should feel confident in your sales skills.

    Cons

None directly about the company. Director of admissions changed a couple of times which made it hard on the team.

    Advice to Management

Maybe find a way to connect employees as a team. Maybe an employee engagement program would be effective given the size of the company.

    - No sense of community culture within the company

    Advice to Management

Set up more activities for employees to work and collaborate together so they are not stuck behind a cubicle all day.

I have been working at American Career College full-time

    Pros

Some co workers are great, like family, they watch out for each other. Many instructors and staff really love the students. Great work/life balance for all employees.

    Cons

Not too much room for advancement, college administration doesn't communicate too well with campus employees.

    Advice to Management

    More communication with employees.

I worked at American Career College full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The students learned from some of the best professionals instructors in the field, and learned hands on using the most up to date technology in the labs. This made me feel happy to show off to potential students. The work environment was enjoyable, professional and rewarding. I must say that i have learned many hard and soft skills.

    Cons

It would have been nice if there were more growth opportunity, for example a management training program for employees.

I have been working at American Career College full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Students. It should be about the students but it isn't. This is a vocational school where how we get paid is with students enrolled.

    Cons

Everything else. Management is horrible. If you don't kiss butt you will get fired. Students pass classes and go to extern and have no clue what to do. They are unprepared. This school will keep a student at all cost. If you don't like to kiss upper managements butt and won't do unethical things then this is not the place for you. RUN

    Advice to Management

You should come to a campus and actually see what happens there and what someone has to do ethical or as usual unethical to enroll a student.

I have been working at American Career College full-time

    Pros

There are many good people and it's a pretty good work environment.

    Cons

Some turnover which is probably due to people not seeing it as a long term job. Could pay a little better to its more tenured employees

I have been working at American Career College full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Movement to switch teaching locations as an instructor. Friendly co-workers.

    Cons

No movement for corporate employees, no investment with employees, turnover is extremely high, lack of training, Executive Directors seem loss at campuses. Poor pay and over worked. I'm constantly covering for instructors because other instructors leave mid-term. Lots of Student complaints.

    Advice to Management

Invest more time with staff, pay increase, decrease the turnover problem.
