I have been working at American Cast Iron Pipe full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Friendly environment, work wasn't too complicated, no overtime or weekend work

    Cons

Old fashioned, low pay, not treated fairly by supervisor

    Advice to Management

They need to get with today's time and be more flexible with their employees.

I have been working at American Cast Iron Pipe full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good benefits and work/life balance. Cultural foundation is fantastic, but not always lived up to. Time off is another positive.

    Cons

There is no advancement, company leadership is 20 years behind. Employees have entitlement behavior instead of what is best for me vs. what is best for the company. Too much politics going on internally.

    Advice to Management

Get with the times and be more open to change. Embrace those that have experience outside the company and what they bring to the table instead of being stuck in the same rut for 35 years with employees that haven't worked anywhere else.

I have been working at American Cast Iron Pipe full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people at the company are absolutely wonderful and never fail to make sure I have a great day. The pay is good, and profit sharing is a definite perk. On-site doctor, dentist, physical therapy, and wellness center are available. Safety and wellness of employees are a priority.

    Cons

Still have people hanging on to the mentality that "we've always done it this way and it's worked, so we shouldn't change," and that can really slow down forward momentum. The location isn't in the best part of town, and sketchy things happen to employees who come in and leave when it's dark outside.

I worked at American Cast Iron Pipe full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great work/life balance. Amazing district sales manager and sales engineering staff who take pride in their work and organization. Employee owned company which thrives on The Golden Rule.

    Cons

No advancement for an administrative position within the District Sales Office.

    Advice to Management

Assistance with job placement when a employment is lost due to reduction of force.

I worked at American Cast Iron Pipe full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Bonuses, paid vacation, paid holidays, wellness program, on site drs & dentists, on site bank, u work u get paid

    Cons

Top heavy..bosses where none are needed...rumors of lay offs constantly from bosses and employeeso which affects the morale. Most of the people suck & being reminded of just how much they suck daily when they say more than two words to you. Unfair treatment by bosses who openly favor those who suck up

    Advice to Management

I would have to write a novel.

I worked at American Cast Iron Pipe full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The only thing good about the company was the bonuses. That is only when the company is doing good!
The hard working and under appreciated employees hated their jobs and are always looking for the next best job and they are out!

    Cons

The company beliefs are the Golden Rule. This is a complete lie! They will chew you up and spit you out when they done with you. Don't trust Management! Management is complete failure. If you are not in the
Friends Club you are out. The Three P'S are a complete fraud, employees thought this was a joke!

    Advice to Management

Quit using Eagan as a savior. Who cares, the employees don't! Get rid of incompetent Plant Manager and Cronnies! Get your Sales staff off their backsides. Corporate needs to serious look at this operation! Failure is the status quo!!!!!
