  4. "Great place to work!"

I worked at American Chemistry Council (Less than a year)

    Pros

Collaborative and inviting work environment. As an intern I learned a great deal and gained some invaluable experience. Everyone appeared to love working there.

    Cons

The internship program in my department was relatively new and undeveloped. I don't believe that the employees were prepared to have an intern, and therefore some of my days were quite slow.

    Advice to Management

Again, from the intern's point of view, the management was very available and friendly, but were not prepared to assign projects to an intern.

I have been working at American Chemistry Council (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Outstanding place to work, great benefits and excellent CEO that cares about his employees and creates an environment that allows employees to acheive

    Cons

Limited opportunities to advance, flat strucutre basically creates 2 or 3 levels of employees which can be a positive or a negative depending on your performance

    Advice to Management

Management is very experienced and does a good job facilitating the input of subrodinates, and has improved allowing integration of non-senior staff into senior level meetings when appropriate.

I worked at American Chemistry Council full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

ACC is a place with incredibly smart people, an amazing CEO who will actually take the time to learn your name and a wonderful HR department. The benefits are great and I had a pretty good work/life balance. Overall people are incredibly friendly and willing to help.

    Cons

The cons I have are more to do with the nature of a trade association. It's often hard to accomplish anything because you have to have dozens of member companies agree on a goal and it's a lot like herding cats. Plus having a mix of more conservative members and more progressive members makes a lot of your work as an employee of a trade difficult.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!
