    Pros

The compensation is fair and the benefits are good. Almost all of the staff is very nice and social.

    Cons

The CEO is a lunatic. Stubborn as the day is long and very set in his old school ways, which are not efficient or conducive to a productive environment. If 100% of the employees and managers wanted a certain change, he will still not budge if it isn't within his view of how the company should appear to operate. Very superficial.

Additionally, he ignores guidelines for privacy when evaluating employee performance and job satisfaction. Goes against the recommendations of his managers and disregards the desires of employees for simple changes that would dramatically improve the work environment.

He is openly preferential to employees of certain religions and political affiliations. He shows no shame and basically harasses employees who do not meet his unreasonable standards of workplace attire. However, some employees are given a pass on the dress code at certain times. At a company-wide meeting recently, he stated that some of the female employees dress like hussies. He didn't name names, so I guess that's a positive. He frequently uses demeaning terms when addressing employees by referring to them as "sweetheart," "my girl," or "kid."

This kind of attitude bleeds into the culture from the top down and leads to unproductive workers. Even though he does do certain things to take care of his employees (benefits package), to be so resistant to change and unapologetically disrespectful is to tell his employees that he doesn't care about their comfort or day-to-day wellbeing.

He and everyone else is content with the status quo. The managers tow the line and just do as he say, which means they are perfectly secure in their position. None of the managers will ever leave, so if you're looking for a place with upward mobility, this is not it. If you're hoping to find an easy-ish job that never changes or offers any potential to learn and grow, then apply today. If you get bored easily or need a workplace that will change and adapt to suit it's employees and clients alike, look elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

You won't attract good, young employees with the culture the way it is. People will continue to leave within a year of starting because they will get worn out quickly by an environment that is stuck in the 1980s.

    Pros

You can make money, but the want to pressure even part timers to kill them selves for completions. Now they having people sign off on things stating that discuss things with you, would be nice if some of the people who they have train know how to train people.

    Cons

Management are idiots and all about what looks good and there end. Not for there employees. This company is fake they act like they are for you but they have there favoritism there. This company is fake.

    Advice to Management

Need to learn how to manage.

I worked at American Consumer Credit Counseling full-time

    Pros

Met some good friends there, learned a lot about credit cards and handling debt.

    Cons

Old school CEO, very resistant to change. Box Cocoa seems to be on other projects he has going on outside the office. CEO is complacent, completely fine with status quo and opposed to innovation. CEO has kept the same managers in place for years with no change in sight, so there's absolutely no upward mobility within the company. Heavy micromanagement as well. They used to place an emphasis on employee wellness, but this lessened each year I was there. If you're ok making $14/hr. dealing with difficult clients and terrible management (including the HR Dept.), this is the place for you.

    Advice to Management

Be open to new ideas and change. Listen more to your employees.

    Pros

The money and the people are really what keeps you committed to the environment.

    Cons

Policies changed at the drop of a dime and were not relayed to the workers. Structure of the overall goals changed constantly. There were times when a policy went out and then the next week the policy was null and void. This often caused tension between management and the workers. Other than that it was a great place to work and I would absolutely recommend this place to any person just starting out and looking to get some experience with a great company.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your employees!

    Pros

U learn about credit cards, how to handle debt.

    Cons

Pay is low, bennifits are great.....use as a first job, or a filler untill u get a job u really want.

    Advice to Management

Put something Into employee retention. The lower u pay an employee, the less educated employees you will have . Than the two that are good, run the department, instead of being a team.

    Pros

    Flexible work hours. great co-workers.

    Cons

No feedback from management. Management is too quick to make major changes without thinking things through first. Conflicting messages from the CEO and department management. Be ready to be friends with supervisor/management to be listened to or get ahead.

    Advice to Management

Think things through a little better. Get someone as department manager who is willing to listen to other people's ideas without just dismissing them.

    Pros

Best part time job ever! I have been here for over 2 years for a reason! Good part time pay, great people, good organization. Mission focused. Open until 11:30pm at night so there are flexible hours.

    Cons

You have to commit to at least 15 hours. Management will be flexible with you, but make sure you are willing to make this committment. Giving up your Saturdays is something you have to be preared to do as well.

    Advice to Management

    None. Things are pretty transparent.
