I worked at American Eagle Outfitters part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You work together with a team of other friendly and professional associates and do your best to be productive and efficient at all times.
People are willing to lend you a helping hand whenever you need it.

    Cons

It can get very busy especially during the evenings when Times Square is at its most active.

    Advice to Management

Handling of the fitting room area can be a little more efficient because that area tends to be a mess with people walking in and out.

I worked at American Eagle Outfitters part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fun people if the store is right, occasional store contests, good employee discount, and they pushed videos of sales on you almost every shift. There's a lot of information you can use in order to sell to customers better or organize the stockroom, etc. Wasn't a horrible job though for part time work for a young college student. Pay was actually better than most retail jobs for stock, and I got regular 6 months raises, though normally things like .15 cents.

    Cons

Hard to advance past the starter associate job at times when you're in stock, a lot of turnover, especially in management at my store. At one point of the 4 managers there, I had more time put in at the store than all of them, and I only worked there for 3 years. Hard to really get district management to change things that need to be done. Also, sometimes the sales goals for the store are a little unrealistic.

    Advice to Management

Keep a better consistency in management. We floundered without a head manager for months, and it made it difficult for direction and made seasonal hiring difficult, and improvements to the store impossible.
